New firmware updates for all parts today. There's also mention of a v2 app that allows fine tuning of the position for each derailleur (hopefully that means live fine-tuning, as that's probably the biggest setup issue with the groupset currently). The v2 app doesn't seem to be available yet but I will do the firmware updates once it is.

EDIT: Did all the updates. Right shifter firmware reset the settings on it (so you'll have to configure buttons again). The new app is available and FINALLY ALLOWS FOR LIVE FINE-TUNING!!! Better late than never. Shifter firmware updates apparently now increase battery life, and the RD ANT+ profile has been updated related to the battery settings - hopefully that now means it shows low battery at a lower battery percentage (rather than the 50% it was before).

I haven't received any updates for the Wheeltop app on iOS, nor do I see any new ones available. The new version of the app you mentioned, V2, isn't showing up as updated. Is it only for Android, or does it have a different name?

I'll try updating both the EDS TX and GEX later.

It's not in the Play Store yet, but the author of the third party DrEDS app has made it available on his website here:

Thanks. Live fine tuning is cool. I'm afraid of updates but will install...

FWIW, BikeControl App is trying to support Wheeltop EDS TX "extra" Shifter button task assignment similar to Shimano and SRAM bonus buttons... it's not fully there yet but he's trying to get it to work.  Reach out if interested I know he was looking for folks to test, etc.

I might have to give Wheeltop TX another try. The groupset is sitting in my drawer right now.  ;D

I have the OS kit on my Niner MTB, but replaced the EDS TX with GRX Di2 on my Gravel bike.  It's not a bad groupset, especially at 1/3 the price of Di2, but in the end since I have Di2 on my road bike and was accustomed to how it performed and its features etc I wanted it on my Gravel bike as well.

Shameless plug, my lightly used EDS TX groupset is listed in the Chinertown Classifieds... :).

Great news.
Hope now I can get my FD perfect, because I could never get it not to rub when riding in the biggest cog.
I´ll give my feedback after I try it

You can adjust all the trim positions on the FD with the new app - having gone through and re-done all the FD positions now it's definitely worthwhile doing so. This is the app they needed to launch with rather than release it three years later - I expect it would have made people feel very different about the setup process.

I did a quick comparison of FD shifting speed compared to the 105 Di2 on my other road bike since the firmware noted some changes to FD shifting in the new firmware. I have mine set to race mode (using the DrEDS web app so it still sleeps properly as well). Downshifts are approximately the same speed, upshifts are maybe 0.3s-0.5s slower.

Just found that the Magene PES charging cable also works for the Wheeltop group, and seems to have a slightly better hold than the original cable. Handy if you happen to have one lying around, or need a spare.

I think they're reasonably generic-my older Sigeyi cable works fine as well.

Hello,

I'm experiencing an issue with the Wheeltop EDS TX front derailleur (FD).

My setup is:

Lightcarbon LCR-017D frame
Wheeltop EDS TX front derailleur
Magene PES505 power meter and crankset
When I adjust the front derailleur so that it doesn't rub against the chain, it touches the crank arm. A colleague had the same issue and solved it by bending the front derailleur slightly, which worked for him.

After several discussions with Wheeltop support, they explained that they tested the derailleur with Shimano crank arms, which flare outward and leave enough clearance.

Before I bend the derailleur, does anyone have another solution or any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

My LTwoo eRX v3 RD crapped out on me the other day, so instead of waiting on the warranty replacement, I decided to firmware/app update the software and use the EDS TX groupset I had sitting in my parts bin. First thing worth mentioning is the new app update with real-time fine tuning is a game changer for the groupset. The old app sucked. The new fine-tune settings were much easier to adjust and setup. I also had an easier time adjusting the front derailleur which was a big headache with the old app.

Though my complaints with the baby sized grip shifters are still valid. They're a real pain when descending fast on the downhill. Even worst on the GeX gravel setup on bumpy trails. Luckily the braking is much better using some cheap ZTTO hydraulic shifters I've been using. Surprisingly they're much more responsive than the LTwoo and Wheeltop flat mount brake calipers I have on my other bikes.

I've also noticed more Wheeltop parts available on AliEx which is a big plus for the groupset. Not having to deal with the seat post battery and cabling makes setting up the frame build a bit more easier. I'll report back when I get ample ride time in with the EDS TX setup.

This weekend I took the EDS TX on a 60km and 580m climb ride. It performed quite well. The updated app fine-tuning really does help the performance of this groupset. Only downsides is that the FD still needs a bit of finessing to fit and FD shift performance is a bit slow compared to the competition. RD shifting is decent and my hands have finally gotten use to the shift hoods, though still not the best. I consider it now a decent groupset especially with parts access from both Wheeltop and 3rd party sellers on AliExpress.
