What compression ring did you use so that the Superbox headset wouldn't cause any issues?

I just got back from the bike shop; I asked them to install the stem and a new set of handlebars, and I'm livid... He didn't use the Superbox headset and spacers but the ones that came with the frame instead. When I asked him why he left it like that, he told me the compression rings weren’t compatible. I thought I read here that it wasn’t a problem, though (using the bearings that came with the frame).

I want to check myself but don't want to bleed the brakes again...

Kind of crazy for the shop to just set it up that way without discussing with you first.

Hi, sorry for my late reply, I used the deda one, first it worked really well without any creaks. Now I have a persistent creak when I put a lot of force on the handlebars tho..
Tried losening everything and tightening it back up but the creak stays. Idk whats causing this but quite annoying

Has anyone ran narrower road tires on their GR201 for road rides? I have a Domane for road riding but it feels so sluggish (the engine accepts most of the blame here) and the GR201 feels way more lively even with big tires so I was thinking of picking up a narrower set of wheels and running 28c/30c tires for an occasional fast road ride. I'm currently running 9VELO GV2.0 wheels with 48c Tufo Thunderos.

Pantone 5195C. As far as I know this is the same color as the Dusty Merlot color used by State Bicycle Co.

I used to have a road wheelset set up for my GR201 with 700x35s.  Honestly it is not a great road bike, I had a lot of trouble holding tight lines through corners with the local fast group.  I did a 200mi/12k road ride on it last summer and it was great for that though, very comfy and not much slower than my road bike.

Great input! I don't plan to get rid of my endurance road bike, I just feel like the GR201 will be more playful (feel faster). The bike will never be my issue if I tried to ride with a local fast group.

Right on, I think that as a bike just to ride on the road it is great.  I like how yours is built up.  Same group set, tires, and seatpost as I have on mine.  The AXS dropper was my all time favorite gravel bike upgrade!

Hi all!

I'm currently planning a custom gravel build and doing a lot of research before buying the frameset.

The bike will mainly be used for:

Commuting (20 km + 20 km, mostly gravel paths) Road riding with a second wheelset or fast tyres Long all-road rides Light bikepacking / Camino de Santiago type trips

I already bought a Shimano GRX Di2 825 2x12 groupset with 48/31 crankset because I want the bike to remain quite road-oriented while still being capable on gravel.

At the moment I'm comparing several Chinese frames such as the Mondince FM326, FM336, Carbonda CFR696 and this Tideace frame.

Maybe a silly question from a newbie:

I noticed this Tideace frame is referred to both as GV201 and GR201 depending on where I look.

On the Tideace website it is called GV201.

Is there actually any difference between GV201 and GR201, or are they exactly the same frame and just different naming conventions?

EDIT: I reply myself as found GV correspondes to Tideace and GR to TanTan/Seraph. Cheers!

- Inseam: 81-82 cm (31.9"-32.3")

I am currently considering both:
- Mondince FM326
- Noah platform frames (Mondince FM296 / Tideace GV201 / TanTan-Seraph GR201)

My goal is a comfortable endurance / all-road gravel bike rather than a race-oriented setup.

For those who own any of these frames, which size would you recommend for my measurements? I usually prefer a slightly more comfortable fit for long rides rather than an aggressive racing position. For reference, I currently ride an Orbea Rise size M and feel comfortable on it.

Any feedback from owners with similar measurements would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your feeback. My dout is 54 o 52. I guess I'll pick the longer frame and add a shorter stem if needed.
