What size spacer did you use on the front chainring to get the 46t to fit?

its a DUB wide crankset with BBinfinite bottom bracket and their wide spacers

Hello,

Can you recommend a frame plug for a front derailleur hole? Do you even plug it somehow?

A few days ago, I ordered my frame in the Pantone Warm Gray 5C matte finish.

Size 52 for a height of 176 cm and an inseam of 81 cm. I can’t wait for it to arrive! ;)

Derailleur cable hole with a little plastic plug ( I just found it in my stuff). For the derailleur hanger, juste a black tape

nice build! Do you use an adapter on that senicx crank? To use different chainrings? Which is it?

A word of warning to anyone ordering from TanTan.

I received my frame last week and noticed they sent me a fork without mounts on it. All pictures on their site indicate the fork will have mounts, and I don’t see any indication that it was even an option to remove the mounts. They didn’t indicate during any of our correspondences that the fork would be missing mounts, or ask if that was okay

I pointed out the error to them, and asked if they can offer a solution. They said it’s not a quality or safety issue, so they won’t do anything

I asked them to ship me a new fork because sending a product that does not match the description is in fact a quality issue. They said the same thing, and offered to sell me a replacement at full price

I offered to meet in the middle and pay half price, and they said the same thing. They recommended I could sell the current fork on the secondhand market because apparently there is a large market for them (not buying it). They also sent me an invoice for the full price fork. The invoice does not specify anywhere that the new fork will have mounts on it, which seems ridiculous given the circumstances.

I reiterated that this is a quality issue because the frame did not arrive as described and they did not warn me of the deviation. We will see what they say.

I get that they probably work on tight margins, but I’m pretty disappointed that they aren’t shipping as described, and don’t feel at all accountable for this. If they are willing to send an out of spec fork, what would they have done if they sent the wrong size frame? Just told me it’s still safe to ride, so I’ll have to buy a new one?

Quick question. After torquing down the compression nut. Do y’all apply a small amount of torque to the top cap or just tight enough for no head play. Some say 5nm some say 2-3nm

Just tight enough so that there is no play in the headset. It's also called "pre-load" and describes pretty much what it does. If you want a torque setting I'd go with 1-1.5Nm. 5Nm is definitely too much and might even overload the bearings i.e. excessive wear. The top cap does not hold the fork (except during the installation process), the handlebar bolts/clamp will do that. It really is just to pre-load the whole setup so that it is nicely tight when you torque the handlebar bolts to spec. If you want, you could even remove the top cap and screw afterwards - not recommended since it leaves a hole and looks shit but just technically speaking.

Interesting. Most people would have actually preferred a "no hole fork" but didn't know that would have been an option, from what I saw. Sucks, that you see it the other way round. And totally agree with you, they should have made that clear during the ordering process. But not surprised either. One thing I learn from ordering Chinese direct to consumer, is that I over-confirm everything. Had a few "aha-moments" on similar details where I thought everything is clear but turned out it wasn't.
Slow on the climb. And everywhere else.

Which handlebar do you use? Max. 2 nm on the cap

Sorry for the late answer,
I'm using the original SRAM force 22 spider with the original chainring. 110 BCD 5 bolt

I just ordered a frame a week ago. So not left factory yet. Did they not send you a photo of frame after painting and before dispatch? I've been emailing Jessi and she (I'm actually not sure of gender, I'm presuming she) said she would send photos after spray job, I'm hoping I can confirm mounting points at that stage before dispatch.

Great explanation, thank you.
