Gosh, just buy a short-travel XC bike/frame and put dropbars.
Once you're into real fullsus (with air shocks and forks), maintenance's not different. So why not go for a real bike specifically designed for the kind of terrain where you already need a mature suspension and big tires?

I disagree - this is essentially what Dylan Johnson built for some lifetime races last year using an Allied BC40 but with shorter, non-MTB reach.

I just ordered a frame a week ago. So not left factory yet. Did they not send you a photo of frame after painting and before dispatch? I've been emailing Jessi and she (I'm actually not sure of gender, I'm presuming she) said she would send photos after spray job, I'm hoping I can confirm mounting points at that stage before dispatch.

Hey there - did you ever get you frame shipped yet? I payed on March 24th - custom color + some wheels, and I haven't got any photos or a tracking number. Ordered from Jessie via email.

Hey Guys, i just drove my Gr201 for the first time, breaking in the brakes. and i discovered a bit of movement in the headset, eventhough everything is tightened properly.  anyone else experiencing this? i used the plastic compression ring which came with the handlebars...maybe thats why?

and also i have lexon gravel integrated handlebars and discovered a crack on the side...really annoying.

any other recomendations for handle bars?

That's disappointing about the handlebars. I just raced mine at the Traka 200, which has some brutally rough descents, and it all held up perfectly.

I find with headsets sometimes after the first couple of rides you need to loosen off the stem bolts and re-torque the compression cap to take out any 'new' play (before re-tightening the stem bolts again). Sometimes if there is a lot of friction, 2NM is not enough to remove play initially.

So which bars are you currently using?

I'm currently using the Lexon integrated gravel bars:

any other recommendations? or should i buy them again and send back the broken ones?
does anyone have experience with the flared ones from xm carbonspeed (peter)?

Which headset are you using? A friend of mine also uses the Lexon an no issues with the plastic c ring. Did you cut the fork properly so you can adjust the headset play?

Nevertheless I would recommend to claim the issue to Lexon.

So I had three handlebars on this bike: tideace one (= trash), speeder cycling with FSA No55 headset (nice with good fitment), now BigRock Skyline (= fits nice but still no ride with these)

Just got an email today with pic of frame and a tracking number. All Ali Express component’s arrived within 10days which was unexpected (obviously shipping from storage warehouses in Europe somewhere) - just need to order tyres, and Jagwire compressionless cables from BikeInn and I’m done.
I didn’t see any alternatives of good enough quality on AliExpress for tyres. I think tyres are too important a component to be taking a risk on some random brand when quality tyres can be bought for €30 each

I am planning on ordering my frame soon and am trying to decide on size. I am 177.5cm and am trying to decide between the 52 and 54. My current bike is:
  • Poseidon X Gen 1 Size Large
  • 25 Degree setback seat post
  • -6 degree 80mm Redshift Shockstop stem
  • 165mm crank

When I compare the geometry between the GR201 and the Poseidon X it looks like the 52 would match up better:
https://bikeinsights.com/compare?geometries=660fe85e11653c00217d7346,61bc1d8de3b7f3001e48a170,

But I also noticed that the geometry of the GR201 seems pretty similar to a Specialized Crux and when I enter my height and shin length in their size calculator it recommends a 56 in the Crux which lines up more with the 54 in the GR201:
https://bikeinsights.com/compare?geometries=660fe85e11653c00217d7347,678d79ac0327fc001b45ef3c,

I haven't been riding gravel/road long enough to know if my current bike fits me well so I am leaning towards going with the 54.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I would go with the 54, and adjust with a shorter stem if needed. You get some more stack, and typically also have more space for frame bag and bottles with the larger frame.
