I want to install the new SRAM Rival AXS E1 crankset, but there’s no wide version available. Do you think a 45 mm chainline could cause any issues? I’m wondering if the chain might get too close to the frame or the rear tyre.

EDIT: I'm seeing that the Magene PES515 have a 44.25 chainline and since some of you are using that, I guess I'll be fine with 45.

I've been lurking in this thread for a while and finally finished my build, so I thought I'd share my experience with this frame.

First of all, I sourced my frameset from LT bikes (longteng). Chose them because they had the best price and were willing to do custom paint for cheap. The frame took about a month from payment to arrive in the US. I ordered right before a week long Chinese holiday too, so it's usually quicker. Only negative things I have to say is that they did not provide an actual headset, which I paid extra for, they only provided the headset bearings and one of the paint colors I requested also didn't turn out the way it looked in a sample picture they sent me. I had the idea to do a tan/purple color scheme, but it turned out to be off-white.

Built it up with a Sram force axs XPLR groupset and an old fulcrum wheelset with Panracer GK tires. Whole assembly process went smoothly, axs electronic groupsets are very simple. Quality of the frame is really good, I'm impressed. Riding feels great, and I'll pick up some wider 45mm tires soon which should be better. Reach feels good too, I got the 58cm frame because I'm 6'3"/190cm and I don't feel too hunched over, but still aero enough. Total weight of the build is 20lbs/9kg.

I'll be using this for bikepacking/touring and trail riding in the future, which is why I got this particular frameset. The mounting points seem great for extra bags, bottles and racks. I thought the internal storage compartment was a cool idea, but it's much more tight than I thought it'd be, I think I'll just stash away an emergency tube in there. I included a picture with some of my touring gear mounted.

Please help me out with the sizing of this frame, it's difficult for me to decide which size would be right for me.

If I choose the size 54, then all the sizes are perfect, but the reach is too long. To compensate this, I would need an 80 mm stem which is very short.

If I choose the size 52, the reach is fine with my originally used 100 mm stem, but the stack would be very low and I would need at least 30–40 mm of spacers, which I think wouldn’t look good.

For reference, I'm 178 cm tall and my inseam is 82 cm.

Which one do you think would be more ideal?

Hi there, I'm 180cm, same inseam. Got a size 54 with a Lexon 420/80 mm handlebar. All spacers installed. Works good for me, handling is stable on fast descents.

Probably a 54 frame with a 90 mm stem. It’s just a 1 cm difference and you’ll have good control while keeping the frame size you need.
If you feel the reach is too much, go with the 80 mm stem. As @Er7ik said, you’ll probably get good handling in almost any situation. You might miss a longer stem on some difficult technical trails, but not everyone rides that kind of terrain.

Thank you for both replies. It's a very nice build, and the picture really helps with my decision. Based on the photo, the 80 mm stem doesn’t look “weird” at all. With that in mind, choosing the size 54 frame with an 80-90 mm stem might be the better option for me as well. I think I will move on with the ordering. (:

I'm almost like you: 177 cm tall with 82.5 cm inseam. Having read all this thread and the same one on Weightweenies and after lots of doubts, I went for 54. Didn't receive it yet, the frame should arrive in a week or two. I also ordered a really cheap aluminum handlebar to try with different stems and may be get a bikefit before buying an integrated cockpit.

You’re all very helpful. I think the two photos (from Er7ik and vdt) perfectly illustrate the answer. Both the 52 and 54 frames can work for this height, but with size 52 the position becomes very aggressive. In vdt’s photo you can clearly see that even with quite a lot of spacers there’s still a big height difference between the saddle and the handlebars. In Er7ik’s photo this difference isn’t as noticeable. Both builds are great, but I think I’m already too old for such an aggressive setup that the 52 frame gives you. 

What ultimately helped me make my decision was the fact that there’s only a 4 mm difference in reach between the 52 and 54 frames, which you can easily compensate with a slightly shorter stem. However, the stack difference is 20 mm, which is a huge jump, and 20 mm of spacers is very noticeable. This means that if you choose the larger frame, the bike won’t be significantly longer, but it will be much taller.

Anyway, I’ve ordered the 54 frame today, so now I’m waiting.

I'm getting some annoying vibration on the front while braking with the front brake.
I've also checked it at home and there seems to be some small play between the fork tube and the head tube that I cannot get rid of.

When I overtighten the top cap bolt, I do feel some slight improvement, but I still feel the vibrations, plus getting the preload to 6-7nm doesn't seem like a very smart long term solution for the fork's health.

Could it have something to do with the headset bearings (all stuff from Tantan)? Did anybody have a similar issue?

I can confirm I've solved this issue by changing the integrated cockpit with another brand.
The issue was 100% related to the stock C-ring that came with the Tantan aero cockpit.

For the new one, I didn't go with the Lexon gravel bars (which are popular around here) since I didn't like the huge flare.
Instead I went for the Rpantahi (still flared, but just a couple CMs) since it got a lot of positive feedback from other riders in my cycling club.
The price was quite good (around 90 euro) the quality imo was slightly better than the Tantan one, and so far it has proven to be rock solid even on light MTB routes.

The Rpantahi came with two different C-rings, one was plastic with a few holes and one was made out of metal with the classic C shape. I've risked it with the metallic one, but I guess the quality on this one is higher since this time I had no tolerance issues.

I've had it for more than a month, but I only wanted to give a feedback after I was sure about its quality.
