thanks for your response. This is not the seatpost wedge. Its another one, much smaller compared to the seatpost wedge,

Maybe it is a seatpost Di2 baterry holder, the wedge-in part. See if it fits inside the seatpost with room to spare for the Di2 battery.

I contacted Winspace about this wedge/di2 battery holder because I also wasn't sure what it was. They gave me this pdf.

Yesterday i recieved my T1550 Gen 2 Frame. I opted for the 520 with the longest stem available (125mm). Lets see how this fit works for me! Overall i like the quality of the frame, paint and frame accesories. Speaking of which: in the frame accesories box was this little wedge. Do you know what it's for? I never had this in my previous builds.

What’s the weight of frame and fork compared to the claimed values.
And what color did you get?

I weighed the frame in size L (520) including the derailleur hangers and, big surprise, at 1090g it is well above the figures given. To be fair: winspace didn't define the condition in which they specified the weight. I expected this and am actually happy with it. I have the bike in Chameleon white and love the look and paint quality. i will post some photos when i catch a sunny moment (which is quite unlikley in nothern germany right now ;) )

I think that the weight is given unpainted.

Winspaces unpainted frames are still about 10% heavier than advertised

What version of the frame do you have? The 2.0?

Yes i got the T1550 GEN 2 in chameleon white in size 520.
Let me share my first impressions: Straight out of the box, the quality seems very good. The paint job is great, and the visible parts of the frame make a good impression. The build went smoothly, without any problems. In the first few meters, the build gives a very solid impression: nothing rattles, no noises from the bottom bracket, even under heavy load. In the chosen size(56cm stack), I feel comfortable. It feels noticeably more compact and aerodynamic than my old 58cm frame. The bike rides very well. As mentioned by others, it is very stiff. When ordering, I was concerned that it might be too stiff, even uncomfortable. After three 100km rides, I cannot confirm this. I don't feel uncomfortable at all.
Overall i already love the bike.

If you like it, its weight doesn’t matter.  ;D

But for me it perfectly fits the image of those Chinese manufacturers always claiming too low frame and fork weights, unfortunately. Not that they’re the only ones (Factor, Trek, BMC, …)

Has anyone had a chance to compare the Gen 2 to an SL8 yet? do you think the performances are equivalent or the SL8 is still better?

I have the Gen 1 T1500. Other than updated tire clearance and a revised geometry the T1550 is essentially the same 5+ year old frame. This isn't really a terrible thing. The T1500 is very capable and race proven bike. If that's important to you.

T1500/T1550 is incredibly stiff. Not harsh or sloppy, like a few sub-$800 frames I've tested, but the riding dynamics are very much on the firmer side of things. This leads to a responsive ride for climbing and acceleration. It really is a race bike meaning if you can take advantage of its qualities on a regular basis it's fantastic. Otherwise there may be Z2 days where you'll be yearning for a softer ride. I suspect it rides similar to the old Venge.

Regarding the riding dynamics of the SL8, it's the most "accessible" frame I've tested. Makes sense given the popularity. And price. The low frame weight is very tangible and it handles crosswinds exceptionally well. Riding comfort is next level. Almost to the point you'd think the frame isn't stiff at all, but it climbs like a dream. Very controlled while descending. And yes the SL8 is fast as you can imagine.

The downside to the SL8 is the frame is so refined that it's not always the most lively/exciting bike to ride. It lacks a bit of character. The NPC of bikes if you will.
