Just broke my rear wheel thru axle at the thread. I will buy a new udh hanger but I am bit confused with the dimensions of the thru axle, it is written : 164mm M12*1.5*L16 but the website mention: M12*1.5*163mm. I also read that it is standard 142x12 mm.

Which one is it? are these the same? Where could I find one?

Hey all, I’m piecing together the parts for my first ever TT bike - I’ve done so much research (thanks to this forum) but still not 100% sure of compatibility and whether or not I’m getting the most bang for my buck?

Appreciate any advice on the below build.
Total Price $4,644 (AUD).
Use case will primarily be for local sprints/olympics and 70.3s and the rare (maybe 1 every couple of years 140.6s)

Keen to know:

    Any compatibility issues or just poor decisions
    Any easy/cheap upgrades or downgrades (note, I want SRAM wireless shifting so pretty set on that)
    Missing any FUNDAMENTAL components


Once I buy everything, plan is to have it professionally assembled by a shop who offer full build (hopefully they’ll let me watch - i’d love to learn, and im not comfortable doing things like brake installations, bleeding, cable cutting etc.)

Doneeee. Took longer than expected as I fiddled a lot with the cockpit. Very happy overall but the list of wanted/unnecessary updates is long

1 year Update! 1 year later and same location, with this bike and couldn't be happier. I did some upgrades around the chainring, toolbox and cockpit. Managed to do a 70.3 and actually win a smaller olympic triathlon last year. This year I'll go through a full distance triathlon with the bike. Only issue I had with the frame over the past year was, that water accumulated in it after a wet ride and there is no drain hole at the bottom bracket - I drilled one now hoping it will not crack

Looks good and I dont see any compatibility issues. I'm using the Ryet Saddle on my road bike, but I'm not sure if I'd go with it for a TT position.

Inseam 81.5cm
Shoulder to wrist bone 53cm
Height 173cm

I'm not sure if i should get S or M? Any idea?

Take S. My measurements are similar and i got a S Frame.

Yes they are way more stable, higher and help to Control the bike better than the Velobuild Fake Visions

Looks like you kept the VB basebar tho, wondering what diameter leap shifter holder you went with (23.7 or 24). I measured the bar outer diameter at the end and it was 23mm so either option seems like it'll slip without tape.

I ordered the 23.7 from Leap. They fit snugly on mine. I installed them to the correct recommended NM, and they're rock solid when combined with the SRAM S900.

Do you find it a little awkward to press the shift button? Love how they look but having the shift be on the brakes seems more ergonomic.

They feel good when you hold them.
I mainly shift with my ring finger; they don't require much pressure.
They look great, and I think they enhance my bike.
I use the Leap components both one on the extensions and on the basebar.
