So I got a quote for 65 mm T800 wheels with steel spokes and a 54T ratchet, priced at $754 shipped to the EU. The estimated weight is around 1550 g.

That felt a bit heavy to me, since my current 65 mm wheelset with steel spokes weighs about 1430 g — although it’s only 28 mm wide externally.

I then asked for the same specs but with carbon spokes. The weight would drop to 1400 g, but the price goes up to $945 shipped.

It’s a bit more expensive than I expected, so I’m still debating which option to go with.

Sounds about right for steel spokes.
How many spokes 20/20, 24/24 ot 28/28 and what hubs are being used?
Steel spokes are around 4grams a pop
And T800 rims around 495grams each

I have ordered 60/65 wheels from another suppliers T1000

Rim 60 450g +/-15g
Rim 65 465g +/-15g
H-Works hubs 20/20H 276g
5mm carbon spokes @2.8g each 112grams
Wheels 1303grams
Did ask and see if it was possible to hit sub 1300g but they cannot promise that but around that weight for a wheel of this depth is light.

T1100 version UD paintless finish D65CU-33 wheelset 20/20H built with carbon spokes weighs around 1315-1325g/pair

Received my D50CU-33 T1100 wheels and they are sitting at 1.181g.
Michelin Power Cup 30mm ending up at 34mm.
The build is fine and the hubs are also nice.
Wasn't able to ride them yet, cause I'm still waiting for my frame.

Little minus: The surface (UD unpainted) is very sensitive, even finger prints are sticky and not easy to wipe away.
Guess I would change +20g for clear coat next time.

Same UD paintless finish on wheels of both of you two. Actually it is very easy to clean the finger prints, just use some water is OK. And UD paintless finish is not that easy to scratch.

Still lighter than I anticipated. Need to check again but I think around 1384g

D50CU36 rims with 34c tires. I figured go as wide as I can and the SLC 3 ended up clearing these rims and tires with room to spare. Feels so good that I will probably keep this as my only bike & wheelset. My D65CU33 wheelset is probably going to a friend and my gravel bike is getting sold.

Thoughts on your SLC3? I still have mine but had to strip it down. Needed the groupset for my TanTan GR201 gravel build.

Dynamically out on the road it's a very agreeable bike. Very well planted and nimble. Winspace markets it to compete with the SL8 which doesn't make sense. But I get it. And it's not really far off the mark to be honest. Especially with identical components and wheels.
I've been scaling back my permanent road bike rotation. The SL3 definitely makes the cut.

My frame has perfect QC and seems very well built so I'm happy with it. Im probably not qualified to talk about ride dynamics. I do appreciate how it is able to clear these tires

36.4 on my calipers. A 32c tire may give you a more aero tire-rim transition if you believe in that kind of stuff

Do you also ride on heavy windy days?
Will the wheels be stable in those conditions, that 50mm will be all you need?

I came across these wheels thanks to Patliean1's video (huge thanks for that!), and I finally decided to reach out to Peter and order a pair of D50CU-33 T1100 with steel CX-Ray spokes. I'm super happy with the wheels—they look stunning in person and are incredibly light! 1289g with rimtape applied.

The paintless option saves only a hint of weight, but is quite the magnet to dust and fingerprints.
