My wheelset is almost finished!

The GP 5000 STR wheels were mounted without tire levers, and the complete set looks fantastic!

I also ordered the valves and tubeless tape from CarbonSpeed, but no project is without problems...

Front wheel mounted, and the wheel maintains its air pressure without tubeless lubricant.

Rear wheel loses air after about two hours. 

I'm a complete "newbie" should the wheel be leak-proof without tubeless lubricant, or will it stay permanently with it?

The tape is probably not mounted properly?!

2nd question: I removed the valve core to fill it with tubeless lubricant later – reinstalled it for testing – and now the valve is completely leaking.

What am I doing wrong?

The setup does not necessarily holds air w/o sealant. It depends on the tyre and the tape. In my case with the Pirelli P Zero RS Both tyres mounted with levers no issues, the much looser thunder burts not without sealant.

So just fill in the sealant and give it a little shake. Then they should be sealed.

For the valve core: maybe it’s damaged. You tried another one?

Not yet, because the valves from CarbonSpeed are new ones.

Is there a reason to choose the 21 Spoke Hub Version except the Cheaper Price? It is almost 50g Heavier but also a bit cheaper.

So in theory, when mold is pretty new, there is more wastage left on the rim? And the more time the mold is used, there will be less and less wastage? Does the same aplies also for the frames?
Does more waste influence the structure of carbon? Like in less stiff, more prone to fractures,...? Or is it only on the outside of surface?

Frame mold is totally different with rim mold, and the carbon fiber layups for frame is different with the layups for rim, but similar like that, new production frames on new frame molds would be a bit heavier. Anyway, the wastage rate of epoxy depends on several factors, new molds, different resin formulations, differnt molds materials, different carbon layups formulations, different factories production line operators etc.

We do the impact testing almost per 100 rims production to make sure the rims are still stiff and can pass 80J impact testing. And we need to maintain and polish the rim mold per 3 days, we need to prove the molds are still proper even per 1500-2000 rims production, if not, then we need to fix them. The structure of carbon on our rims wouldn't be influenced since we control the wastage rate under certain percent. But I am not sure about others'

so carbon wheels with 50mm 60mm 65mm rim?

because if the 60mm size was available I would be interested.

Max rider weight limit on our T1100 wheelset is 120kg, it is just 85kg or 90kg on some other companies' light weight wheelsets.
