I applaud the innovation.
You can find road rims that are 36mm wide, so you can conceivably run a 35C without looking like a light bulb.
I wonder if that can ever be quicker than 28/30/32 on the road. If it's slower, how much slower? The 40C especially sounds wild, but the 35C could make sense for the road frames clearing 38C, like the new long teng 301, or the new ribble models that were featured on YT recently.
Ironically, it's an Italian brand making tyres maybe best suited to US gravel, with the network of white / unpaved roads, that Europe doesn't really have?
I also wonder about handling in turns.

So many questions :)

Looks like they're just making practical road tires for the urban US road infrastructure!  On my gravel bike, I'm running tubeless 38c Panaracer GK slicks on a 2nd wheelset. They're comfy for cruising on dirt roads and light trails, but I wouldn't use them as a dedicated road or off-road tire. They're a bit sluggish uphill and I have to pump them up about 10-15 psi higher just to make them feel responsive on the road. On the trail, they're too fragile/slick to handle ruts, rocks and loose gravel. Plus tubeless wide slicks are typically in the 300g plus range. Not lightweight at all.

I've really done my level best to find good, deep and wide aero rims and there just isn't anything out there. XMCS is the closest I've been able to find, and even then there isn't a lot to see. Or farsports, but they only go up to 58 mm. Or scope if you're willing to pay 4k € for a set

Ted King rode 700km on 35c tires with bunch of ex pros and strong guys on pinnarellos and it didn't seem to slow him down.

Nice. i can see how that makes sense to run 35C for a multi day adventure like this. even if it costs you 5W all day every day, knowing you can roll over cobbles, potholes, white section and so on without blinking, with plush comfort for long multi days, kind of makes sense. Also, whoever's done that kind of ride knows you somehow get creative when you create the route, you're like "oh let's try this mountain pass via this road, and next thing you know, you're on some dodgy road section.

My LT268 has so much clearance, as long as there's no mud, i think i can probably put 35C on it, although it's rated 32C.

The wider tires also put you more into the sweet spot of tubeless set up air pressure where escaping sealant doesn't turn you and your bike into a Jackson Pollock painting.
