Seraph Bikes Superlight 836g X68 - Alternative to SL8 Fakes?

What has TanTan been up to lately? My last dealings with them was last fall 2025 with the X68.

There was a time when they were pumping out new designs/homage frames almost monthly.

This is NOT a hundred percent confirmed. Someone on facebook group said it got told that on a reply via WhatsApp and the model disappeared from their website. So...I don't know?

So, definitely pulled off their sites, but Vivian says to get in touch via WhatsApp to order it offline.
I can smell Specialized lawyers around...

My guess is that ther supplier got in troubles.

they likely got a cease and desist from Specialized's legal team, and have pulled the "public" availability but apparently you can still buy one.

There is a big difference between copy or something, especially here "open mould design" AND counterfit, copy using the parent company labels without concesus.
Its like saying all 50mm carbon wheels are counterfits.

This is wrong. Products do not need to have identical branding to be deemed counterfeit. There are also other types of IP infringement that could cause a product to be considered illegal for sale or manufacture, both under US/EU IP laws and in China.

Distinct designs can be patented too, but they take like 18-24 months to be enforceable, so it's possible that the design patent was granted to Specialized now and these products are now illegal, whereas before the patent was filed but couldn't be enforced.

A copy of many distinct features like this, including the same measurements, is leagues away from a generic 50mm wheel profile.

Hey everyone, just wanted to share an issue I ran into. I started having a clunking noise while pedaling. While diagnosing the problem and disassembling the bike, I removed the pedals and noticed that the entire right side of the bottom bracket is moving and it turns out the threaded insert in the frame came loose.

I contacted Tantan yesterday, but I’m not very optimistic about the outcome. A local repair would cost around $350–400, and I’m not sure it’s worth investing that much into the frame. At this point, I’m pretty much defeated by this frame and will probably cut my losses and get something else.

Frame seems also to be cracked around the BB. Warranty claim. Let us know the answer of Tantan.

I meant that im not very optimistic about the frame now, i've had quite a few issues with it and it's just really annoying at this point.
As for the Tantan i hope they will honor the warranty in some way, they did do it with the fork last summer so lets see, i will definetely post update here once i get a response.

Do let us know how it goes, this is why this forum exists. Also, if they try to avoid honoring their warranty, point them to the forum and tell them you will light them up on fire, it should help. But i'm hoping they will simply do the right thing. As to paying for shipping, that's normal. I had warranty claims with Farsports years ago, and they made me pay for shipping.

Did you post about it on the forum? This is important info because bottom brackets arent supposed to just desintegrate, it may indicate (along with exploding forks and what not) that Tantan, and that's the precise engineering term, sucks the sweat off a dead man's balls.
