Vivian has told several people this and it looks like the fork supplier was changed in March/April, so all recent forks should be around 400g.

It's extremely annoying that my fork won't be replaced without complaint, even though it's clearly too light, lighter than the minimum mentioned by tantan, has a hairline crack on the left leg and can be pushed in with the thumb.
I will take new pictures at the weekend and see what happens then.

This is a major risk and could end in a fatality, even CN companies should act more responsible.

As things stand today, I would definitely not order from tantan again, but rather from lightcarbon.

I would see if i can break the fork myslef in that location and stick it on the bike and send a photo and get a replacment.

I'll be narcissistic here and say I was one of the first customers to call out and address the VeloBuild c-ring issue. And VeloBuild eventually did right by customers. A big part of it was because they had/have western personnel going back to "Chris" to really highlight the importance of a new C-ring.

TanTan makes solid stuff and I hope to continue working with them on future frames. Their GR201 gravel frame is fantastic! But I think the X68 is dead.

That was my first thought when someone on the forum shared fork weights that were lower than the original ones — which I find hard to believe, considering that 100% copy manufacturers usually don’t use the best resins or the highest-grade carbon.

And if TanTan is talking about new forks and a new supplier, it’s likely because they’ve received a significant number of complaints and reports from buyers all over the world.

I don’t think all first-generation forks are doomed to break — the components are generally overbuilt in terms of load capacity — but everything has to go right: correct carbon placement, the exact resin ratio, proper curing in the oven, a rider under 70 kg, and good-quality roads.

That said, I’ll be buying this frame next winter — but only if it comes with the heavier fork.

Just got photos of my frame from Vivian! Am I worried about the forks, no not really. Im gonna put my trust in her that Im receiving the 'upgraded' forks. I will be weighing everything before building and posting weights, obviously with paint.
Also got the wheel photo from 9Velo! 50/58 with Ti freehub. I did the triple decals a la Enve bc I love the way they look when rolling.
Anyway, I went with a size 56 frame. Im 188cm tall with 91.4cm inseam. My torso is short for my height, arms are average. Im either gonna order a 120 or 130mm stem with a 36cm wide bar. My chest is a 40cm. This will be a race/group ride bike. I've got a chonky steel boi for long zone 2 rides.
I ordered the frame on 7/9/25 and got these pictures this morning.

I was going 70+kmh yesterday on the bike, the last thing i want at the back of my mind then is "oh btw, is my fork going to disintegrate because it's a piece of $hit?".

<- this. Descending fast is one of my favourite things on the road bike. I’d take +100 to 200g of extra weight on a frameset any day if it means peace of mind. Plenty other ways to save weight.

the kid's X68 mostly built. have a few bolts to swap out and new bottle cages to add. rides very nicely based solely on a quick spin to work out the kinks. the L-Twoo eRX v3 works quite nicely though not as straight forward to setup as Shimano or SRAM.

it's the Ryet copy of the Specialized S-Works Romin Evo Mirror. in this particular instance the 3D print is actually very good. I have an actual S-Works Romin Evo Mirror on my SL8, this Ryet copy on my gravel bike and now this one on my kid's bike too. The copy is probably 95% as good as the real thing. The only thing it really lacks are the SWAT mounting holes for accessories.

I wanted to go with the er9 groupset. So it's mainly the front brake calliper that won't mount? And then there is a work around to fish out the battery from the seat tube.

Looks like the rest mounts up ok. Front and rear derailleur, shifters.

Its probably then better for me to buy it all separately rather than a full kit and go with some different callipers. And if this is the case, it's getting a little closer to a shimano 105 di2 cost, seems a better option.

If you get the 105di2 on alie with the 90usd coupon, it is basically the same price once you add chain crankset and casette
