Sram AXS 3rd party chargers and batteries on Aliexpress
« on: November 06, 2024, 10:05:46 AM »
I picked up a used Rival AXS groupset for a good price. But it doesn’t come with the batteries and charger. There’s loads of options for both on Aliexpress and Amazon alike.
Does anyone have experience with these? Can they be trusted to work fine and not fry my derailleurs?

I purchased both generic batteries and chargers on ebay earlier this year and they work fine so far.
obv if anything dies or gets fried you won't be able to get a free replacement. your choice.

I'm a happy user of FaceRide batteries.
No worries on warranty. Since your groupset didn't come with batteries, you'll send it back without batteries as well when you apply for warranty.

I buy aftermarket batteries on Ebay or Amazon as they tend to be cheaper than Aliexpress. I have a handful of the MRX Solutions batteries, and they all work fine. I only had one of these out of 5 or so that fit a bit wonky in the derailleur, so I just keep that one as a backup.

Currently using these on my road bike: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BZNX1QC6?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1
They're about half the size of the stock battery and 10 grams lighter. Also work great. I've seen them branded as Takewell, Faceride, and TESSRAM.

I bought my groupset 2nd hand. It’s done roughly 10k km and is way past any warranty. So that’s no concern anyway. But obviously I don’t want to fry it with unreliable 3rd party stuff. Good to hear that there’s good options out there.

Interestingly though pricing on Amazon for me is way more expensive than Aliexpress. There’s a charger from a company called - wait for it - “Rskit”. It’s only 16,99EUR. Various other options at basically the same price.

Same company offering their stuff on eBay for even lower prices. I wonder why. I’ve noticed that for carbon frames, too. Lately BXT have sold their frames for crazy low prices on eBay. About 2/3 of what they quote on Aliexpress. Aggressive marketing? I dunno.

Anyway, got a charger, two batteries (400 mAh) and an RD battery cover for 50 quid. Good deal, I think.
