I built my r088 in May last year with ltwoo rx mechanical. I want to upgrade to Shimano Ultegra di2 now. Will it fit? Is there any issues fitting the battery inside the seat post tube?

I think if you're doing micro adjustments between rides, the saddle can still be nudged without much force. In my case I hadn't adjusted the saddle in a few months and decided to change the positioning. The clamps had already settled in-place and just needed a slight whack to loosen it. Not a dealbreaker in my opinion since the clamp and seat post stay in-place once firmly tightened.

I have a question regarding this: at how many Nm did you tighten the upper clamp?
At approximately 4–5 Nm, the saddle's tilt changed; I have now tightened it to 6 Nm and hope that the tilt position holds.

I don't know if it's still present on the new versions of the frame or not, on the one I bought (March 2025) there was a small step in the central tube that I had to remove with a bit of sandpaper, nothing absurd but it requires a bit of manual work.

well, the parts order is pretty easy, upper earing then c-ring and then spacers. if you have the Spcycle handlebar mind that the top cap isn't flat (it’s conical) and you need the steering tube being at least 4 or 5mm below the handlebar level. I believe this is your issue on may be the c-ring not fitted properly. I say that just bacause I actually had to cut my fork tube twice, because I ended up a couple of millimeters too long at the first attempt.

Thanks! I cut the tube 4mm below the top. I’m hoping I can reposition the compression bung before I need to recut the steerer. Even using a small spacer will be preferable to this. I think the lower SPC cover / spacer sits directly on top of the bearing. The split ring I received as part of the kit didn’t seem to fit :think

I had no trouble on my frame. Or, I had to cut the seatpost a bit, but that was due to the fact that I got the long seatpost, but should have had the short one. I also have to drill two holes in the seatpost now that I have cut it, to fit the battery holder, but for now I just leave it in the frame, just a pain to get out.

I don't think...the lower headset cover shouldn't sits directly on the bearing, but on the C ring/crown ring.
If I'm not mistaken, you mounted the Spcycle integrated handlebar...it seems strange to me that the split ring doesn't fit.

On aliexpress you can source many flat carbon headset covers. I'm plannig to buy one of it too, becuase they look much better and they are also flat, so in case your fork tube is just a bit too long you can compensate it

Almost done with mine, or are we ever done with a bike build? Anyways, first 100 km done, so just want to give som first impressions.

This thing feels fast (subjectively at least)! It both holds speed easily, and gains it quickly. I am however coming from a bike with different wheels(deeper wheels), and another gearing, as the R088 is built up with 52/36+11/30 vs. my other with 50/34+11/34. The bike feels stiff, but still comfortable. The frame is what I expected it to be, so happy for that.

The bike is a bit soft in the front (think GCN), but right now I am running spacers with the hight equivalent of some skyscrapers in NYC, plastic compression ring, and 40mm expander plug. I am waiting for some shims for the metal c ring, as the one I got was to low, and I also have a 80mm expander plug on my desk. However, I am having some problem with the expander plug "taking", so it just spins and I can screw into eternity, any tips?

The frame itself was mostly fine, with the exception of some base paint showing around the top of headset, a bit annoying as it kills the look of a otherwise great frame. But I will try to get some touch-up paint, and try to fix it. But I really wish Spcycle could get their act together regarding paint. Also the UDH I got with the frame I just had to bin, as it would not let the axle in. Think it was badly machined. But the great thing about UDH: easy fix, just got a new one from my local shop. I had trouble fitting the BB, so I took it to my LBS, so they could tape(is that the word?) the threads, but they did not have to, they just used more force then me and it went in.

Anyway, enough from me, I will head out and ride

I use carbon paste on my expander plug ever since it kept lifting up. Keep in mind it was the cheapest 80mm expander I found on aliexpress, I haven't had a problem since. As for installing the expander, in one hand, hold it about 5mm above the fully seated position and tighten with the other hand. Once you get sufficient grip on the sides of the steerer, gently tap it all the way in and then you should be able to tighten it up.

I have build my SPcycle R088 54cm with Kocevlo sl handlebars 38 cm, Kocevlo stem 100 mm, Ltwoo ER7 groupset, Elite ENT wheels and continental 5000 tyres. Have done about 1.700 km and I absolutely love the ride. I can do 100 km rides without any negatives. Super happy.
I am 72 years, 177cm lenght....

I think I just tighten it by feel until it's firmly locked in-place. I don't over torque it or anything. I then just hold the bike by the saddle to make sure there's no movement.
