I would like to buy the bare frame set only without the integrated handlebar. This way I can fine tune the reach trying different stem. What combo is the most practical?

In my case, I bought the frame without the handlebar, fitted a temporary handlebar, and only after having a bike fit with a biomechanist did I choose the correct handlebar.

If you already know exactly what you need, then go straight for the frame + handlebar

I'm trying to decide which color to order for the frame. I'm not sure whether to try a metallic paint finish or just play it safe and order it in UD raw carbon glossy. Do you have any real photo references for glossy metallic color finishes? I tried asking David, but he didn't respond and aside from this reply in the thread, I couldn't find much.

I regret choosing the matte finish a little, as it seems to be very sensitive to scratches. As soon as it comes into contact with something — for example, when placed against another bike — it leaves marks on the paint. I think it probably needs a protective layer on top.
I haven’t seen similar comments here on the forum from people with glossy bikes. Maybe it was advertised as needing an extra protective layer, but I can’t remember.
In retrospect, I would have ordered it in raw carbon (glossy), since the matte finish seems to need an extra coating or paint job anyway.

Thank you. Yes, I had already ruled out the matte finish, since I know it’s almost impossible to keep in good condition.

I managed to get a few color samples by contacting SpCycle through AliExpress. If they can be useful to anyone, I’ve attached the reference images for colors 2, 5, and 10 with a glossy clear coat.

Really annoying when going uphill. I have retightened the crank (actually, I got a new crank arm, but that is another story), so my next suspect is the bottom bracket. I tried to tighten it already, but it doesn't move any more.

Any ideas how I should go about this? Should I add more grease or something? Any other suggestions on what I should check? I am pretty sure the creaking is coming from the drivetrain area. I distinctly remember creaking when I push down with my right leg, and I am not entirely sure whether it is also present on the opposite side.

Happened to me just changed the bottom bracket and it solved my issue

Did you grease and check torque on chainrings bolts too ?

Check the tiny bolt on rear dropout, on my r065 it was sometimes a bit loose and creating this kind of noise.

Set up complete and she rides like a dream! I needed to file the carbon where the rear brake calliper sits, so it mounts flat and properly. We could argue this would've be better done by SPC, but on balance I'm very happy with the frame and quality of finish. If a bit of filing to make it perfect and allows me to get this bike at the price I did, I can live with that. Brake performance is great BTW and I had no issues of the install, set up and bleeding of the Wheeltop brakes other than the rear calliper issue described above.

Similarly the Wheeltop EDS gears are just fantastic! They do take some setting up, so unless you're technical (read geek!), or know a good & patient mechanic, I'm not sure I can completely recommend them on this basis. But I love them! Shifting performance on the 12 speed Ztto lightweight 11-36 is superb (52/36 rings, waxed KMC chain), better than my old Shimano Ultegra 6870. Quality and materials are fantastic, and they're programmable to 13 & 14 speed, so future proofed. This and they're fully wireless, so no annoying battery to mount or different leads and junctions, made them a winner for me.

The Lexon 165mm cranks and Xcadey PM are great! The PM tracked my Elite turbo perfectly, which is matched to the Garmin Vector 3 pedals on my TT bike, so they're all talking the same language / numbers. Love my Ryet 3D printed saddle, very comfortable, Ryet Ultimate wheels great too and look and handle superbly with the Michelin 28mm tyres. She came in at 6.7kg ex pedals and cages, very respectable for a <£3000, 2x12 hydraulic with PM & 28mm tyres I thought.

You can add a kg to that in 'endurance mode' as per the below picture with pedals, cages, tools, bags and bottles etc. Which I think also blunt the pureness of her aesthetic, but this can't really be avoided.

I'm off to France on her soon to do the Alpe d'Huez challenge, so there's going to be a few hill repeat sessions between now and then!

Yes, tons of grease everywhere, and I use a torque wrench wherever I can & know the correct torques.

I am not using a torque wrench on the BB though. I am also wondering whether it is possible that the Shimano branded one I ordered on AliExpress is not genuine. Here is the link, maybe someone can tell? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005010201648244.html To be honest, I think it is genuine and installed correctly, and I am going to get it out, regrease, and put it back just in case.

SP-R088 has UDH so I am not sure that the tiny bolt exists. It is torqued to spec though.

No, but that reminds me to explicitly pay attention to creaking when I am standing up to see if it persists.

By the way, I am using this crankset https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005010300854651.html with 1mm spacer on the drive side (from here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007636056317.html) to make sure that the crank arm doesn't touch the BB body. I am wondering whether this could also cause some weird interference or a pressure point when I am riding. Is there such a thing as crankset incompatibility with the BB?

I'm selling my gloss black 58cm frameset - nothing wrong with it, just need something slightly less agressive for the kind of riding I do.

Currently I don't have a box to ship it in (until new frame arrives) - so its local pick up only, or can meet within 20 miles of South Leicestershire (UK).

I can do as frame/fork only - OR frame/fork/bars and Ultegra di2 groupset with 165mm big rock cranks with 50/34 Ultegra chainrings. Genuine SL8 seatpost, carbon saddle, 380mm/110mm integrated bars. Not included: wheels, cassette, computer mount.

Does anyone else think the profile on our front forks doesn’t look very aero? The leading edge is a bit blocky and there’s no appreciable camtail on the back. I come from an aero bike and ride TT so this is noticeable to me 🤔

Looking at SL8 images, the forks seem a bit more aero and I wonder if an aero retro fit is an option or whether I should just leave it and enjoy riding the bike 😂
