Anybody have experience ordering directly from SP Cycle either through the site or via email? My order on Aliexpress got cancelled after a week presumably because SP/Ali pulled their products from US delivery. I guess my order was in limbo with May 2 coming..

I ordered through the website and had no problems. I received some automatic emails but not a ton like on Aliexpress. The whole process went smoothly.

Hi guys!
The frame just arrived after 20 days of shipment. It looks immaculate on the exterior, just a little polish needed to remove some minor scratches.
My build will be the following:

• Frame: R088
• Groupset: Shimano 105 Di2 12-speed R7100
• Wheels: Elitewheels Edge 50
• Handlebar: Standard Uno alloy (will switch to a one-piece carbon handlebar after the bike fitting)
• Saddle: Ryet carbon saddle
• Pedal: Keo Blade carbon

I’ll keep you guys updated once I start the build!

In the meantime, if you have any tips, advice, or suggestions, feel free to share, I'd really appreciate it!

I'm considering swapping my UDH hanger for a direct mount because I use a Shimano Ultegra rear derailleur.

Just found out this minor issue on the frame what do you guy think's? it's safe to use? it's on the low rear triangle

Was it there when you unpacked the frame? I always video record my box openings for issues like this. I'd check the box if it was impacted during shipping. If it's scratched I might not worry too much, you can cover it up with some black gloss touch up paint. If it's cracked with obvious flex, I definitely would contact SPCycle.

I think is a minor like impact, no flex at all and the coin test it's fine no sound difference, i think it's safe to rid and in the meanwhile i send a mail to spcycle, i will continue the build anyway

coming back on the thru axle spacers saga. For the ones that did not receive the flat surface axle. Did SP cycle ever sent a new axle or you had to buy it and they reimbursed? I noticed the play today in the rear wheel after my first ride and it seems it even damaged the udh. I wrote to SPcycle on aliex, will see what they reply, but I wanted to check what was their solution for others with the same problem.

I noticed the play today in the rear wheel after my first ride and it seems it even damaged the udh. I wrote to SPcycle on aliex, will see what they reply, but I wanted to check what was their solution for others with the same problem.

SPCycle sent me additional washers when I told them my thru axle wasn't secure. Before I received the washers, I was using a 12x168mm 1mm * 19 L threaded thru axle with quick release which secured the rear wheel. After I received the washers, I opted to just keep using the quick release TA which comes with a washer that  fits perfect in the concave chain stay hole opening. Either ask for additional washers or source your own concave washer.

I cannot proceed with my build since my cranks are in customs. Somehow Aliexpress shipped 2 different Items from different sellers in 1 package upping the value above the duty free limit of 150 euros. I have never had this and I am really pissed about this. Would have ordered on different days if I had known this..

On the positive side: my frame looks great, some minor paint/ clearcoat imperfections, but nothing major. I was a little afraid that my seatpost would be sticking out too much; but there still is about 12cm left. (min insert was 8,5 cm according to SL8 manual)

edit: on the thru axle; i recieved 2 golden washers with the frame; one seems pressed into the frame; the other one is on the thru axle itself.

I submitted the problem of the thru axle to them....they replied that the rear thru axle included with the frame is not dedicated (this explains the use of 3 washers) and that the problem is the (short) length of the thread.
The ideal would be a thru axle 165mm long and 17mm thread length.
I asked if it is possible to have a thru axle with the measurements indicated by them, or to send other washers (I received only one washer with the thru axle/frame), but as of April 23rd they have not yet responded to me.

Update on my bike:

Did the Eschborn Frankfurt race on this bike yesterday. 103km and about 1500 meters of elevation. The bike handled it extremely well. Especially on the descends it felt so fast. When i was in a group on a light descend the bike often went faster than the other riders without even having to pedal. On the steeper descends i got really fast and felt safe in the corners. I think that's mainly because of the 50mm deep wheels. There were two cobblestone sectors which the bike also handled really well. I already said a lot of positive things about this frame but now that i finished the race on it and the bike survived and handled it really well i can 100% recommend this frame. Climbing also felt good but i don't think the bike geometry etc. matter that much on climbs (apart from bike weight of course).

Unfortunately my phone was in a ziplock bag in my jersey most of the time so i didn't take any pictures of the bike on that day.
