I just ordered mine through AliExpress in Chameleon Blue. I almost went with black to save a few dollars and grams, but my current bike has a boring paint job and I'm ready for something a little more colorful. I haven't had an interesting paint job since I owned a Klein MTB back in the day.

Now it's time to get started gathering parts. I'm going to do a SRAM build with a mixture of Force and Rival, plus some AliExpress stuff like handlebars, crank, and saddle. I already have a cheap 3D printed saddle that I'm happy with, so I'll just move that over and put one of my old saddles on my current bike.

The main decision I need to make is which wheels I'm going to get.  I'm thinking about something in the 40-50mm depth range, as light as possible. I have barely done any research on wheels at all yet, so I have a lot of work to do. I hope to decide on the wheels, bar/stem, and crank by the end of this week so I can order everything and hope that it arrives within a reasonable timeframe.

Main goal is to keep the budget under $5,000 and get as close to 7kg as possible. We'll see how that goes. I'm probably too cheap to spend that full amount when it comes down to it, so I might end up closer to 7.5kg.
Hi, I don't know what is your wheels budget, but if you're looking for something lightweight, a set with carbon spokes is definitely the best option for keeping weight down.
Some popular models:
- Newmen Streem Allround VONOA
- Farsport 2025 New EVO S/New S/New EVO C Series (C series have steel spokes)
- Winspace Hyper 5/Hyper 3
- Elite Wheels Drive 50D II

what handlebars are you considering?

I'm leaning towards the Lexon Vero right now because there is a 36cm option with a 110mm stem. I'm going to keep looking around. I'm willing to stick with 38cm if I can find something cheaper.

This Kocevlo would be measuring 36x110:

Otherwise, if you're happy with the 38x115 size, there's also this ElitaOne, which is the model I bought (but I still have to assemble/try it):

Nice, I ordered the same color! I agree it looks quite purple so I wonder what Chameleo Purple actually looks like!

I ordered a frame on 24th of August in chameleon purple and I am currently waiting for the customs letter to reach me. I'll upload some pictures probably next week.

Hello,
I know that was the topic about LTWOO battery on swatting but I can’t find it quick and I need help.
How you resolve this? The seattube is too narrow and is no chance to put LTWOO battery in.
Can you show how you make it happen? Maybe with photos etc?
Thank you a lot!

With the LTwoo battery holder, you'll have to slide it inside the R088 seat tube. Just tie 2 pieces of ribbon string on each end of the battery holder. Ribbon string is buoyant so it's easier to grab onto. Slide the battery holder all the way down. It might be necessary to carefully cut the seat post a few centimeters to achieve proper seat post height on smaller frames.

Here's my post that has instructions:

But I don’t have any battery holder. It wasn’t in package with groupset.
How does it look like?

The battery is the battery holder, read my post link on the procedure.

Chameleon purple frame in size 58 arrived yesterday, nearly had it built up until I realised the di2 battery catches against a bit in the seat tube that I am going to need to file away so I can get enough of the seat tube in

Those stem lenghts for the 380 bars seem a bit odd. Is the 115 really a 120? The bars seem to curve forward a bit.
I assume the stem length is as indicated: so 115 should be 115mm.
I ordered a 420x100 (real width c/c of the low handle is 430mm)....with integrated handlebars, it's never easy to know where the stem length is measured.
Yes, the handlebars are slightly curved forward (like the Roval Rapide), and that's a feature I was looking for, but given the same reach as another model, the lever distance is always the same.

Frameset ordered yesterday in size 52cm black gloss. I spent few weeks overthinking what colour/finsh to go with and a week doubting whether to go for the 54cm instead but I feel 52cm will be the safe and right call for me at the end even if that means few spacers. For refernce, I am 1.71cm with 81cm inseam and around 71/72 saddle height from BB. I could possibly make the 54cm work for me with no spacers and negative bars but I now like the look of spacers more than slammed in these new "modern" bikes with integrated cable routing.

Looking forward now to having it built with Rival AXS. I will use a combo Mosso stem (integrated cable routing)  + aero bards till I figure out whether I wanna go with an integrated handlebar or not. I always like rotating the bars a bit pointing up if that makes any sense.

The only issue of doing non-integrated bars first, (if you plan on doing integrated later) is that hydraulic hoses still have to be cut to length. Unlike semi-internal frames, there's no leeway slack on hose length with internal cabling. You can always redo the brake hoses if you go integrated, but that's just extra work!  ;)

As for me, I like messing with spacer height, stem length, bar width, etc. I know a cyclist who keeps going to the bike fitter due to hand discomfort, but there's only so much you can do with an integrated bar setup. These fitters are just fleecing him of cash when it really comes down to bar width, stem length and spacer height to get optimal fit. The best they can do with his setup is raise/lower or tilt his shifters!

I am in the same boat than you. I am constantly rotating the bars looking for a more aero or comfy position so I see myself not moving to integrated bars ever even though I keep being tempted.

With my Velobuild, even though I also bought a 52cm and on paper I should be able to handle the reach with a 100mm stem, I ended up having lower back pain and had to swap to a longer stem. Lucky me that I did order the bike with combo and not one piece cockpit.

This has probably already been written....I'd like to know how much to tighten the expander inside the fork steerer tube.
The Specialized SL8, if I remember correctly, should be tightened to 5Nm.
