The 11.11 sale ends on the 19th and hopefully you'll get the same coupon deals during the Black Friday sale. So I'd either buy before the 19th or wait to purchase the frame during Black Friday if you want those coupon savings. After that the next big coupon sale will be during the AliEx Summer sale.

I was able to hit 6.8kg with power meter, pedals, computer mount, chain catcher and bottle cages. I'm using fairly budget components as well (LTwoo v1 ER9, RYET saddle, Onirii/Thinkr pedals, etc.). Depending on which wheelset, tires and components I use, I usually hover around 6.9-7.3kg. I also really like the non-offset seat post option. It adds way more rider flexibility to the frame.

I'm wondering how you manage to get to such weights...I weighed mine (size 56) the other day: without pedals, chain, handlebar tape, and bottle cage, I'm at 7,1kg...so I expect a final weight around 7,650-7,750kg (also considering 80-90gr of latex).

Of course, the custom white marble paint and stickers are heavier than your clear coat (compared to the raw frame + about 150gr), the wheels 50mm aren't the lightest (about 1400g), and the groupset isn't the lightest either (Sram Force Etap AXS)....but 6,8-6,9kg seems really light to me!

Not that I'm particularly concerned about weight (my current rim brake bike weighs 7.5kg, always with PM), but I was hoping for a little less.

I can go even lighter (go 1x, 80g saddle, modified brake calipers, swap to lightweight stem and round carbon bars), but chasing less weight is just more $$$ and my bike will end up being uncomfortable. I'm better off not drinking beer and indulging in pastries!

I'd say that the components that make the biggest difference are the wheels and the groupset: the Force Etap AXS weighs about 300g more than the Ultegra Di2 (I have no idea how much the Wheeltop groupset weighs), and the wheels are another 300g more.

Changing these components would easily bring the weight down to around 7kg, but as I said: it's not a problem for me right now.

I chose SRAM for reasons I consider more important than a few extra grams of weight.

As for the wheels, there will be time and opportunity to get something more high-performance, but for now, that's fine.

The switch from rim brakes/mechanical groupset to disc brakes/electronic groupset will already be a big step forward....or at least I hope so!

I’ve ordered my 54cm gloss clear coat over raw carbon. SPC 380/100 integrated bar stem combo 👌 Turns out the Black Friday sale / voucher was even better than the 11/11 one. I’ll check in to ensure straight seat post and best carriage tomorrow 🤩

Bonus 79 was surprised about low weights. When I started to specify my build it soon became clear it was going to be great value compared to a western brand. What only came clear later, was that if I spent a bit more and focused on weight. Was that this could be a very light build too! Main hero’s are the 780g frame and 1070g wheels. But wins throughout the build with cassette and cranks both lighter than DA at a fraction of the price. Total weight will remain to be seen, but I expect similar to jonathanf2 despite 54cm frame and integrated bars 🤞

China Cycling low key dissing the SPCycle R088 because it doesn't come with a logo! As if I want my bikes to come with a dumb name like "Assisting Force" or something nonsensical. Last I checked, SPCycle has been around a lot longer than Panda Podium.

Man, GCN has the budget to make good videos and every once in a while they put out something good, but they tend to crap out a bunch of lazy content. Looks like the R088 videos are headed down the latter path. They're looking for engagement instead of trying to provide useful information- playing dumb about the weight of a white frame, giving it a bad paint job, fear mongering, etc.

My box was similarly beat up, but I didn't get a fake battery sticker. His little bundle of parts was also a lot better packaged than mine. I was a little jealous of that. I wonder how long ago they recorded the video.

The GCN video is certainly recent... as is the frame's packaging... mine wasn't as careful, and the box arrived dented; fortunately, the frame inside was fine.

I agree with your opinion of the video: it's very sketchy and doesn't provide any useful information for potential buyers (it could have provided an opinion on the quality of the frame's internal workmanship or the tolerances of the headset, bottom bracket, etc.). But I expect other videos to follow, perhaps providing this information, as well as a review of the frame after a road test.

At one point in the video, he shows the accessories that came with the frame, and referring to the internal battery housing part, he says he doesn't know what it is....well, if I know, and I don't have an internal battery, I imagine if he knows too.

Yeah, they have the resources and the connections to really test the bike if they want to. Something tells me that they won't, but I'd love to be proven wrong.
