Carbon wheels advice
« on: January 13, 2025, 01:05:25 AM »
Hi, I'm looking for a set of carbon wheels.
My budget is max €1000 including shipping to Netherlands.

Wants:
Disc brake
Dt swiss 240 hub
Sapim spokes or something that I can easily get replaced.
Deep carbon rim 50-56 range.
Preferably 30mm wide bu 28-32 is fine.
Run a tubular setup.

Don't need:
Lightweight, I'm 86 kilo atm, a few hundred grams on wheels won't make a difference.
Very fast shipping, won't be needing them for a few months.

I'm looking forward to hear your about your experience.

This is the closest to your match. Since tubular considered outdated you don't have much choice in regards of rims. You can go to the dedicated Xiamen sale thread and write to the sales representative. They can offer quite cheap yet quality builds.

they're a copy of DT240S. parts are interchargable...
They spin perfectly and I put the DT240S stickers on

Just to be sure, you want rims for tubes? Or for the use with inner tires (met binnenband)? Or tubeless(ready), which most are these days and can be used with inner tires as well :)

Anyhow, I suggest you contact Peter on the forum. He has the best wheels around and easily is within budget. Just received mine (also in The Netherlands, Nijmegen) and will be ordering from him again in the future :)
