40nm. Race Face suggests 50nm, but I didn't want to push it with a brand I'm not so familiar with, so 40nm for now, will keep an eye on it over the next few rides.

Did you use any grease on the crank bolts ? Cybrei doesn’t recommend any and I’m just trying to make sure.

Since the 80's I've used grease on absolutely everything. Always have, always will.

PS: Just been speaking to Peter from XMCS and thought it would be only fair for me to give a final report on the issue I was having with the 12-Speed Shimano quick link not meshing well with the XMCS narrow wide chainring.

Problem is solved with a YBN quick link.

IE: I tried 2 Shimano 12-Speed quick links, one used, one brand new and both did not mesh. I tried a ZTTO 12-Speed quiick link, it too was too narrow and did not mesh, but the YBN quick link works fine.

What's the final verdict then on the carbon chainrings? Shall I just stick to Shimano rings for now?

Depends if you really need the aesthetics.
Personally I would and will just keep using the DA rings.
Better shifting, less weight , price comparable.

Hey everyone,
last year I was happy with a wheelset from XMCS, so I was excited to try their new carbon crankset. I bought the 165mm crankset with a titanium spindle, a carbon spider, and 52x36 chainrings and installed it on August 15th.

During the install, I immediately ran into a major issue: the chainrings aren't perfectly straight. They have a noticeable wobble, no matter how I mount them (see also

I was able to get around the problem by setting up the derailleur so the chainrings wouldn't touch it while I was pedaling, but this is a major hassle. There's only a tiny sweet spot for the adjustment, making the setup process a huge pain.

I reached out to Peter at XMCS directly to report the issue. He advised me to discuss it here on the forums. So, here I am.

To figure out what was wrong, I tested the crankset with a set of Rotor chainrings. The wobble disappeared. This confirmed that the crankset itself and the spider are fine; the issue is with the chainrings themselves.

The chainrings feels like a "beta test" product. I expected much higher quality. If you're considering buying this crankset with the chainrings, I'd advise caution. You might end up with the same frustrating experience I've had.

Yeah was also advised to discuss this in the forum.
I just installed DA chainrings in the meantime to troubleshoot the crankarms.
And until I can objectively measure the deflection of the chainrings.
But I guess you confirmed my unit.

I agree, this is far from an ideal situation. My "fix" of adjusting the front derailleur has made it somewhat rideable, but it's a frustrating compromise and not a long-term solution. I'm already looking into a replacement set of chainrings.

They do look very similar but the leese ones don’t have the bolts. Whatever that matters.

Hi all, I have just got the crank, okay, yesterday  Looks amazing, the carbon fiber look really nice for me! The crank in size 165 mm for SRAM DUB weight 330 g, sometimes the weight showed 329 g. A bit heavier than Sram RED E1, but looks better (315g) . Weight with the 46t chainring, Xcadey power meter gen 2 and five bolts is 532 g. The whole installation and assembling was very easy, no issues at all! For now the Favero Assioma pedals will be installed, for the testing purpose. Due to GPLama content I promise to take my own tests and I will compare Elite Justo vs Favero Assioma Dup vs Xcade Gen 2. Regarding the crank, I will provide the feedback as well.

Excellent. 165mm at 330ish g's. No issues on install on Sram dub. Look fab in the light.

Purchased 165mm Ti spindle cranks in October. Super sleek look and they're exactly what you'd expect from a crank. There's nothing flashy besides it being lightweight, if you like the look you really can't go wrong.

Just install the crank correctly and check if you need a spacer to ensure the easton cinch doesn't rub against the BB. I compressed my BB bearings because I just assumed assembly. Got it wrong and caused a few issues.

One BB later and all is good.

You should probably ask and purchase an extra pre-load ring if possible, you never know when that thing will break (if it does). Harder to find aftermarket 24mm spindle ones.
