Here are some photos.

I think it’s great that there is a washer for the spider lockring.
On the non drive side however the supplied spacers are a bit too smal, I.e. their outer diameter is smaller than the inner diameter of the preload adjuster.
Am I missing something? That way they just slot in and don’t do anything?

There’s one set of bolts too much on the scale.

OK so I just got my crankset today, with carbon spider and 52T 1 by narrow/wide chainring.

I'm running on Dura-Ace, so using a waxed Dura-Ace 12-Speed chain, and the Shimano quick link is "sticking" to the chainring causing the chain to stick on some but not all rotations.

I had to bail out of my ride, but on the stand I can see the quick link is too narrow for the narrow/wide chainring teeth (it doesn't engage completely thus causing the chain to lift off the chainring).

I did some googling and found that Stone narrow/wide chainrings state: You have to replace the 12s shimano original quick link to other brand 12s quick link like KMC YBN SUMC any brand. as the shimano 12s quick link is too narrow.

It's after hours now but I thought I'd raid my parts bin and run a few experiments:
- ZTTO 12-Speed chain quick link, same problem.
- ZTTO 12-Speed chain + ZTTO quick link, same problem.
- SRAM Red E1 chain quick link, no go (stiff links).
- 10-Speed KMC quick link, perfectly smooth (but the link is loose/felt too easy to install).
- 11-Speed KMC quick link, perfecty smooth, and again, felt a little too easy to install.

I'll try to track down a KMC 12-Speed and/or YBN 12-Speed quick link tomorrow when the shops are open. I've let Peter know via email and am waiting for him to respond, but thought I'd bring it up on the forums too as a heads up (and perhaps others here have some suggestions which I'd really appreciate!).

Yeah they're the default carbon plated ones that you could get on aliexpress too. Doubt they make them themselves, just like the carbon spiders. I could believe they make the crank arms themselves because they look just different enough to everything else. All the metal parts of the spindle and crank arm interface are identical to all the other generic carbon cranks, so they could be buying those from CENIT who produce cranks for all the others.

Forgot to test out one more thing: I forgot I had a 48T Alugear narrow wide 1 by chainring in my parts bin so I thought I'd put it on and see if it works with the 12-Speed Shimano quick link and yup! It's perfect. Saves 60g over the XMCS chainring too.

So just confirming that the XMCS narrow wide 1 by chainrings use a generic narrow wide tooth design which will not work with Shimano 12-Speed quick links (will not work with ZTTO 12-Speed chain quick links either, but not tested it with KMC or YBN quick links).

Peter must be super busy. He has not responded at all, but 100% the narrow wide chainring he sold me will not work with a Shimano 12-Speed quick link. The Alugear chainring is not only lighter, it's designed to be used with a 12-Speed Shimano HG chain and it's running absolutely perfectly.

Hopefully Peter addresses this with future customers as I now paid for a chainring that I am not using.

A bunch of thin spacers came with the cranks but I didn't have to use any of them on either the drive side, or non-drive side.

PS: I've decided to not use the XMCS spider too. It's light, but the weave on it is 3K, which is different to the weave of the chainring. As a visual person this is like having a lounge room with furniture made from 5 different woods. The carbon weave on the ring, and carbon weave on the spider just don't match anything else on the bike, but I'm really happy with the crankarms, both the 155 length as well as how they look so they're staying on the bike!

I have a cSixx Raceface/Easton Direct SPEEDRING coming in the mail. They clearly state that it works with Shimano 12-Speed chains as well as SRAM flat top chains (and KMC chains). It's a heavy bastard, but it's a direct mount so I won't have to use the XMCS spider, or chainring bolts (fuuuuuu so good as I absolutely hate chainring bolts, so 80's!).
