Steerer tube cut

If a steerer is cut slightly uneven, does it matter? My expandeur plug does not touch the steerer tube everywhere. There is a little gap.

Not hugely - it will still work and it will be hidden from view. But it would bother me - I usually get a sheet sander out after I've cut my steerer tube and even it all out which would fix that really quickly (and if you don't own one, they are a really useful DIY tool and in the UK cost from about £10, so not much). Make sure you do it outside and wear a mask as you would when cutting it.

Sand it flush, my OCD will thank you. Wet sand, so that you dont breathe in the dust which is very bad for your lungs. in 2min if will be flush, it's worth it. Necessary? no. Worth doing? yes.
You can also then flex to the ladies, saying how flush your big expander is to the lip, all around, just flush and nice, like it's been machined real smooth, real nice. It might, or might not have an effect.

Which blade do you use ?

I usually use a 32 tooth metal cutting hack saw blade for carbon fiber, and and at least a 24 tooth metal cutting blade or finer for cutting aluminum head tubes.  (I haven't cut a steel head tube in years.)
