Berd spokes sorry. With Hwork hubs and a good XC rim 1150g should be achievable.

Hello Ludo,
We don't build with berd spokes.

With Berd spokes should be more lighter.

Sapim cx-ray + M270 + TME9035 (305g) = 1160g ( Choice lighter rims).

The more lighter verion rims is TME9236 (290g), We stocked 330g.

Do you do rim brake wheels? Looking for as light a set as possible for a hill climb build.

Hello,
In case I choose rim paintless finish, how is the safety from prolonged UV exposure handled? I'm worried about the structure. The resin epoxy matrix degrades with UV. Is it ok?

Thank you!

Hello
The degradation of epoxy resin requires a temperature of 120-160 degrees Celsius, which is difficult to reach with sunlight.
Paintless is just 1 very very thin layer of paint, almost negligible,  Some clients called raw carbon fiber

Berd spokes sorry. With Hwork hubs and a good XC rim 1150g should be achievable.

I have asked couple of OEMs about Berd Spokes appear these are difficult and expensive to obtain apparently.

H-works B306 ROAD DISC HUBS FOR BERD to SPOKES 316.2grams $150-200uad
gravel rims 45mm 395g
100-110kg limit $270usd
29mm Inner Width at bead
35mm outer width at bead
37mm actual rim width
Berd Spokes 2.5g 48No 120g $8USD each $384usd

If and OEM could get Berd Spokes wheels would be about. $824-874usd 1226.2grams

90kg limit rim 1146.2g  +20usd
135kg limit ton 1306.2g -70usd

I understand that Berd spokes are much more time consuming to build with and require multiple stages of tensioning spread over a few days. That's going to add significant cost. Goosynn seem to be the Chinese equivalent but their wheelsets are $2k+ and they don't appear to sell parts.

Berd replace a wheeler for around 700$ so between labor cost and no initial spike cost, I think oem could get wheels with beed spokes in the 900-1000$

Berd spokes $8 each x48             $385
Hub from h works around             $156
135kg Standard rim $120            $240

These prices are for all depths
Rim finishes don’t cost extra

Another key factor that influences the weight of carbon fiber wheels is tire pressure, which is often overlooked.

I’ve been looking at 7Tiger, the seller behind the own-brand Serenade wheels.
I’ve been chatting with Silver, the head guy there I believe - nice bloke.

Most of their range has fairly narrow inner widths, but I think these new 23 mm inner / 34 mm external rims have only just been released — I had an email today with a link. They’re available in 40, 45, 50, and 60 mm depths decals are stickers so can be robbed.

Prices range from $469 to $539 USD, depending on whether you choose one of the three Pillar spoke options or the Sapim CX-Ray.
That works out to about $599 USD including shipping to the UK, which is roughly £450 GBP, which is fantastic value.

I also suggested they consider offering a 24/25 mm inner width version with carbon spokes. If they could hit around $650 USD, that would be a very very competitive price point I don’t know anyone doing wheels  at this price for these widths and lighter weight weeks say 1200g 50/60 combo as an example.

I’ve also been speaking with another OEM in Xiamen to see what they can offer. I’m getting a load of prices and specs sorted and will post something once I have them. There’s fierce competition in the wheel market right now — maybe we can even get a $500 USD carbon-spoked wheel with wider inner widths. Who knows!

What’s everyone’s thoughts on wider inner widths? Where’s the sweet spot in your opinion? I was thinking 24/25 mm myself.
I might have overlooked these previously but spotted these today:

https://serenadebikes.net/23mm-internal-high-performance-aero-bike-wheels-build-with-carbon-fiber-spokes-p6704522.html

1280g +/- 3% in a 60mm deep (23mm IW, 34 EW) rims, 20h 3.3mm carbon spokes, SR278 hubs. With the 5% coupon code USD 600 dollars / GBP 468 delivered including taxes. I have just ordered these with no decals, and drain holes installed.

Not quite as wide internally as what you're suggesting as the sweet spot, but not far off. I have to say I'm thoroughly impressed with my 1450g sr268 hub wheels with 24h CX rays spokes. They are surviving rough Oxfordshire roads on my R088 very well.

Do they come with a rim tape, if not, do you recommend one for tubeless setup?
