Freehubs from China
« on: February 04, 2025, 12:10:59 PM »
Hi over there,

I'm just wondering if freehubs from Aliexpress (around 20€) are qualitywise the same as the originals from brands like DT. My new wheelset will be with a DT350 hub, but a XDR Freehub over here is about 50-60€.

Are there any fundamental differences which won't last as long (bearings) or something like that?

Greetings from Germany

I think you can expect it to be okay. It's just a piece of machined aluminium after all. The bearing might be a bit shit, but nothing you cannot swap out for a few bucks.

I can confirm they're 100% compatible.

Be careful with the end-cap and the description , they frequently mix road/mtb model and you have to be lucky to find the right one

I got a MTB hyperglide freehub from China (ebay sourced) and endcap for my DT Swiss 350 hub and it fits just fine.
