Dura Ace bike for 2600$ from Sava
« on: February 24, 2025, 06:42:04 AM »
Hey there,

Just wanted to point out your attention to the new bike that Sava released, the whole bike costs as a groupset (about 2600$).

  • It's full Dura Ace, no mix with cheap components
  • Carbon wheels (thou sales team doesn't know what spokes they use, weight and other)
  • Weight is 7.32kg
  • Terrible Chinese paint job included

What do you think?

My reasons to do something else are pretty weak but strong enough for me. One, it's ugly. Two I hate chunky proprietary seatposts. 3, yes DA R9200 is cool and amazing at this price, but I dont think Im alone in saying Id rather go with a lower/older groupset to be able to do a custom build for the same money. If they let you pick your handlebar dimensions and crank length then yea it might be the move.

Cannibalizing this bike for the sake of Dura Ace seems like a good motivation. Planet Xs have been bought quite often for this exact reason ;D

My thoughts exactly, it's like you are buying Dura Ace and getting free frame, wheelset, 3d printed saddle and other stuff, you can sell them and give back some of your money ;D

You should check out if there are high fees for the import to your country.
European Union for example takes 48% punishment customs for complete bikes from China additionally to the usual taxes.

;) and then it's not so cheap anymore for a Dura Ace and an ugly frame. Well maybe the carbon rims can be also turned into something nice by removing the decals.
Better to know what you need to pay instead of a bad surprise.

I'd ride that bike as-is. You could probably use a heat gun to remove the flashy wheel graphics, and it'll look fine.  :)

Flights to China are easy to find for 400€ return. Just rock the bike a bit around the local segments and bring it back home as you forever old bike.

I think the price is wrong (but still significantly lower than Western brands). According to the Czech distributor's website, the 105 Di2 version costs around $3,000/€3,000, and the Dura-Ace costs around $6,000/€3,000. It's likely this price already includes 21% sales tax.

I thought that too, usually they lower price for pre-order items, but couldn't find anything like that, and if you compare it with Ultegra version which cost about 1900$, it seems it's real price.
This is absolutely normal for internal Chinese prices, makes you think how much Dura Ace really cost
