Lightcarbon: LCR018-D (endurance all-road)

So guys... had a blast yesterday because I had a full day of factory tour through LC's halls, including 45min interview with Gavin, seeing QC and ISO-tests. I also met all the names we all recognize from our correspondence, such as Wendy, Carol, Jim, as well as the founder Johnny.
Also saw some of Your framesets in final QC with colorings (Who ordered "Cryogeneix"?) as well as a teaser for 2026... -> Every frame that goes out has the same QC process.
They also told me that all sizes should be in production now. It just takes some time, because the demand for the new models is rather big, and it's still a relatively small shop - intentionally so, to keep the quality high, defects and risk low. Also each frame has like 2h of human labor involved + 2 times baking in the autoclave.
The ISO tests were done in the same room as a Well Known Bike World Tour brand's latest models, (which ofc I am not able to share..) and are assembled in the same building...

Currently sifting through 150gb of footage, so stay tuned, hope i will finish the video soon on my channel - Full English this time!
Also, there will be another factory visit in the next weeks here in China ...

I appreciate the effort you're putting in and I've seen your videos, but I'm still shocked by your limited technical knowledge and remain convinced that you've chosen the wrong size frame 🙄

Therefore, I unfortunately expect little that is truly interesting or informative from the video, and rather a lot of trivial and irrelevant content 😬

But that's just my personal feeling 🤷🏻‍♂️

I am happy for any constructive feedback, also learning a lot from (other's) feedback. But on the other hand I also received dozens of positive comments, or via private dms etc. and even LC told me, that they received an uptick in orders after my videos. So even if this video is not for you, who, on the internet could be anyone, a mechanical engineer, technician, bike mechanic or just a regular dude, idk. I am just a latter, which I always mention in my videos. If that video is a waste of your time, than please please don't watch it - Better yet! Travel here, make better videos, be my guest, but until then, please don't gatekeep others.

Don't violate an NDA or anything, but would there be any reason for someone looking at this frame to wait for the 2026 surprise?

Hello everybody!

I'm about to pull the trigger on this LCR018 frame but I have questions before doing it as I'm not sure about which size I should take.

I'm 178cm tall and my inseam is 86cm. I'm hesitating between size 52 and 54. I need the top of my saddle to be at 76cm Frome the BB and I'm not sure if the size 52 frame can get the saddle top tube to about 73/74 high?

Can someone help me with these questions?

I'm 174cm and the 52 would be too small for me. I can match the fit of my Carbonda CFR-1056 Medium with the LC frame in a 54.

I just noticed a flaw in my frame while trying to replace the hanger LC provided with a direct mount hanger. When torqued down I could still easily move it as the "sleeve" was sticking out a little bit from the frame dropout. I checked the dropout thickness and it was 12.0mm while the UDH spec says 12.5mm + or - 0.2mm. I didn't have a problem with the Light Carbon hanger as the part that goes in the frame is 0.3mm shorter than on the new one. I contacted LC and ordered a 20x28x0.5mm washer. Has anyone else had a problem with this? I will get back to you once I receive a response and sort this out.

I received an update from Carol: "For the thickness of the dropout was 12.0mm for the earlier batch frames and currently we have been updated to 12.5mm. There is no quality problem for both of version frames. Please be assured.

I checked with our engineers and it's OK to add washers for direct mount UDH hanger."

I will proceed with the 20x28x0.5 washer once I receive it and it should theoretically fix this.

The LCR18 is an endurance road (all-road) bike, and the New Bike for 2026 is a different kind of drop-bar bike. So if you are looking in this category (road/endurance) specifically, then waiting for ordering will do you no good .
On the other hand, Gavin mentioned it is still early prototype (3d printed, no molds yet), so things can also change still. I guess, we will see the final model at Eurobike, starting production like LCR18 to the end of the year.

Finally my build is complete.
Pretty happy with results, I think it looks pretty sweet. I hope I get it fully try out on the road tomorrow. I hope that it rides as good as it looks .

Size 58, 400x130mm handlebars specs, without internal storage version
Saddle height on photos (bb-top of saddle) 820mm (another 2cm available to min insertion line), drop between saddle and top of handlebars is 10.5cm with 15mm of spacers.

Weight is 8.5kg with pedals, varia radar and elemnt bolt (like it is on photos) witch is something like 300g lighter than my Aeroad with same config, I doubt I will be able to feel that, but that was pleasant surprise

Those logos on rims and frame are made out of reflective material so it has nice "glowing" effect out on sun.

Nice looking build. How are those riser bars feeling? Can u comfortably gold aero position on them?

kubackje: So far I really like them, position is pretty much identical to my Canyon, so I would imagine no problem holding aero position.
I just have a few more spacers on Canyon compare to LightCarbon and drop is identical to hoods.

Are the bars from Lightcarbon or another brand? I like them.
