Hello,

Does anyone happen to have a photo of their LCR018-D frame/bike in glossy black? I’ve gone through almost all the pages of the thread, but the only black frames I’ve seen are either matte, raw carbon matte, or raw carbon glossy, but never glossy black.

Mine is partly glossy black..

Contrary to the post above, I can't use 40mm tires. The 40mm schwalbes measure exactly 40mm. It fits, but with less than 2mm margin at the rear chain stay and front derailleur.
The tire rubs when I get out of the saddle and put some power down. (nothing crazy, maybe already around 600W)

I think it's rubbing against the front mech. Stiffer wheels could help. I'm running ZEN 60mm 3.2mm carbon spokes, iw 25mm ext 30mm - weight limit 120kg -> I'm 86kg.

Depends if you use WAM width as measured, or go by what it says on the tyre.

I’ve fitted 40mm wide (external) rims to mine with a 35mm tyre, so 40mm total width will work - however, a 40mm tyre on a 25mm internal rim probably won’t work as it will inflate beyond 40mm.
(depending on brand of tyre etc etc etc)

If you’re going to post about things working or not working, be specific as other people read this stuff and make decisions based on that information.


As for a black frame, just edit a pic of a gloss raw. It takes 30 seconds to change the contrast etc

Regarding tire clearance on this frame, I'm using Caracal Race 40c without any problems at the rear, but I specifically went for rims with 21mm ID to achieve this. If I had used 25mm ID rims (that I also own and tested), it would still fit but the clearance at the chainstays would be too narrow. Still, I'm using 1x transmission, not sure if I could do the same with a front mech...

Maybe 40 slicks fit but 40 with tread do not?

Not you, but generally people are saying this will fit, or this won’t fit without giving specific details or the wheel measurements.

Having same issue. What kind of foam tape did you use ie what size? Struggling to find any locally.

Hi guys,
I just finished my new build but am experiencing play in the headset unfortunately. I am sure this was addressed some times earlier here but I did not find a proper solution anyway and hope you can help me.
I am using the bearings from light carbon but the following stem spacers and top cap.: https://a.aliexpress.com/_EuoqYTG

But if I tighten the top cap slightly (like normal) I have significant play back and forth in the headset.
The play disappears only if I thighten the top cap >2.5 NM. This makes no sense and also the steering I not rideable stiff.
I double checked the mounting direction of the bearings, they are correct.
The angle of the cut of the fork is not ideal. See attached pictures. Could this be the problem bc the compression plug is not at the right angle if thightend?
Do you have any other ideas what I could try?
Also when mounting everthing multiple times the compression plug became loose it seemed, this seemed also strange to me.

For anyone dealing with a loose storage cover. I put on some helicopter tape to the top part of the frame where the cover rests, and it works amazingly well. The little extra thickness from the tape makes the cover rock solid.
