I went through most entries of this thread that contain a discussion about the frame size and I had the impression that more ppl sized up, rather than down, with a good potion going for the suggested size. But I didnt do a statistical analysis (yet).
Since testing the frame in real life is no option for me (I live in Europe) the only things I can use to estimate the optimal frame size are indeed my dimensions and comparisons to what I know works.
Statistically on average, the rider's height is a good indication of what frame size one needs. It's just a gaussian distribution, some ppl forget sometimes.
I got the current fit from a professional bike fit and feel good with it. I use 2cm of spacers and a 110mm stem. Both details that I would be able to fine tune when starting form a similar geometry on the new bike.
For the final reach, for example, I am planning to calculate what stem length I need, considering the current setup and both handlebar dimensions.
My hesitation comes from the fact that the gravel bike size recommendation from LC was on point, while this one's seems to be way off to me. And I am wondering if I am missing something.
