I figured but wanted to make clear to anyone else reading, I am not pointing or implying it is the frame. To make clear, this is a good frame!

Same here.  The bike is great and super stable.  My favorite road bike of all time. 
I was sharing my experiences that some outside factors like shop / build errors and tire choice in extreme windy conditions can affect the bike feel.

I'm also experiencing speed wobble / frame shimmy. It only happens at speeds over 45 km/h, and the bike feels unstable whether I'm riding on the hoods or in the drops.

I’ve just finished the Quebrantahuesos race in Spain—197 km with 3,600 meters of elevation gain—on my LightCarbon bike, hitting top speeds of 78 km/h, and I didn't have a single issue. The bike performs perfectly. Best regards.

congrats on the ride/race, the build (bike looks great -- is that the titanium garmin/wahoo mount i see?) and feedback on the performance (lack of wobbles).



I’ve just finished the Quebrantahuesos race in Spain—197 km with 3,600 meters of elevation gain—on my LightCarbon bike, hitting top speeds of 78 km/h, and I didn't have a single issue. The bike performs perfectly. Best regards.

How many spacers did you install in total? I thought max is 40 mm

Thanks. Indeed, it’s the titanium mount; it gives it a spectacular look. The wheels are the XMCS model, featuring a 24 mm internal width and a glossy finish, paired with 32 mm tires. I have five spacers installed. The color is Chameleon White.

Before deciding on the LCR018D, I had a bike sizing session. I was convinced that size 56 would be the right choice, but the fitter said my position would be too aggressive because I'm 182.5 cm tall with a 92.5 cm inseam (yes, I know that's a pretty unusual combination).

He recommended going with size 58 and an 80 mm stem. My concern is that such a short stem might make the steering feel too quick and also leaves me with very little room for future adjustments.

Do you think a size 56 with a 90 mm stem and 40-50 mm of spacers is a viable setup? Has anyone here actually ridden the LCR018D with that many spacers and if so, how does it affect the handling and front-end stiffness in real-world riding?

Lightcarbon offers the titanium mount at an additional cost. I bought one and it looks nice but went with the shorter 3D print out front mount a user posted on here previously. Lighter and kept the Garmin closer to the bars.

You have to account for the bearing cap being 10mm and bars giving 8mm rise. Are you looking at 10mm bearing cap + 40-50mm spacers + 8mm bar rise (60-70mm total) or 40-50mm including the cap and bars? If the second, you should be fine. 20-30mm is nothing wild but I would not want to go over 30mm of spacer. If you and/or the fitter did not realize the bearing cap/bar rise, maybe double check with the fitter to see if that changes anything. Also the 15mm offset vs 0 offset seat post. It will change your position relative to the BB but could shift you forward to run a longer stem.

LC is hopefully going to release a 25mm riser bar in the future.  Pair that with the 56 and you gain an extra 15mm over the HBR17. That is a down the road solution but is an option.

I got a bike fit before purchasing and went with what the fitter said. There is a reason I went to them in the first place. I want to trust your fitter knows what they are doing and is the "expert" on the matter. If they had all the relevant information, their suggestion should be the best fit for you. But I totally get your concern.

I know this topic has already been discussed, but I can’t find it again here in the forum. Is it normal to have this gap between the headset and the spacers? I still have to cut the steerer tube, but it seems very large to me. I haven’t even installed the spacer of 0,7 shown in the picture, because I’ve already read that it can also be left out

I have the exact same problem. How did you solve it? Were you able to press the compression ring more deep in the headset bearing? Is it difficult to do so, do you need a lot of force?

not that i asked if it was an option, but given i went with a glossy clear coat on my LCR018, a glossy finish on the LC wheelset i ordered at the same time would've been nice.

my LCR018 should arrive this weekend!  right at 12 weeks from order (8 weeks frame build, 2 weeks to paint, 2 weeks to ship).

any suggestions/tips, things to check, to do with the build for a new owner?  i plan to do a check the bb area, brake mount surfaces, headset surfaces and hopefully confirm a v3 storage cover.  also will put some paint protection film (generic 3M stuff off amazon) on at minimum the chainstay, but maybe also the bottom bracket and downtube area if the chainstay doesn't go too bad. and then maybe even a coat of car spray wax to protect the finish.

it's my first bike where i got the frame new (previous bikes were used and already built) and with custom paint.  my other road bike has maintenance free matte paint and the gravel is titanium :-)

seen the tips on greasing the seat post clamp mechanism plus maybe 1-2 extra nm on the bolt to secure the seatpost. bought the enduro headset bearings as cheap insurance to not have to touch it for a while, given this is also my 1st bike with integrated cockpit.  chain is already stripped and waxed (not sized of course).  plan to use a shop to install the di2 groupset, but will have to partially build it up to sit on it and confirm how many spacers i'll want (it should be a single 10mm spacer under the stem). 

not sure i've been this excited about a new bike in a long time.  maybe it's the wait and anticipation, or the ability to customize so many aspects of it, but it's been pretty fun process.

Note that that is a functional list - it has nothing to do with aerodynamics.  Most people are buying wheels for aero gains, but putting a modern wider road tire on a narrow wheelset just because it mounts OK isn't really following what they were setting out to do.

Good point. I have considered 8 mm rise on handlebar, but no 10 mm bearing cap. Do you know something more about 25 mm riser cockpit?
