LTK266-D-SL, race frame, 680g, <800g w/paint & metal parts (M), fits 35mm+ tires

Crashed my bike , so decided to try the LTK266. Alisa was very helpful and said it would be done and shipped soon. (size L, transparent glossy blue)
Still a bit sceptical about the seatpost. It seems very wide and non-aero, and that bulky ritchey clamp is kind of a pity as well. Same goes for the seatpost clamp solution - not the best design I think, but again hopefully OK.
Ordered a 55R low stack headset and hopefully will 3D-print some adapters to get a nice transition to my stem. Going with semi-integrated with the brake hoses running open under the stem, was my plan.

Was there a STL-file for di2 battery holder? Went through the posts but couldn't find it.

There were a member that had 3d printed a di2 battery holder, can't find any info if it were made public.
I mounted mine with some of the packaging material and a pair of O-rings.
As a detail obsessed person i'm tempted to order the GIANT kit ( GIA150000049), looks it's around 11EUR + shipping.

Regarding the aero properties of the frame i'd say its a bit chunky overall, this is not a sleek aero model of a frame.

XL Frame ordered. Just wanted to check a few things:

What wire lengths for those using di2?
Any bottom bracket suggestions? Ill be using a standard 24mm crank. 
Ill be running 160mm rotors front and back - not sure from this thread whether ill need adaptors?
Im going to order axles as per this post or are there any others to recommend?

They are obviously a bit lighter but I didn’t weight them on a scale. I know nothing about this brand so take my advice with a grain of salt.

The seatpost clamp has been problematic for me. I ordered a raw frame and painted it myself. The fit of the raw seatpost was very sloppy. I sanded the inserted section of post with 80 grit and applied an additional 4 coats of clear to add volume. Even then the 3 piece clamp did not have enough travel to bind the post effectively. My fix was to add a piece of .004 brass shim stock between the frame and the clamp effectively making it thicker. this along with exceeding the printed torque limit to 12Nm seems to be holding.

Thanks for the report. I saw over on WW that someone also got the wrong size bolt (too long) with their seatpost. I didn't check mine for length, and I wish I had, so I can't provide a reference for what size bolt was correct. I will take that info and add to the first post when I get the chance to measure it.

Apologies if this might be a stupid question, this is my first time building up a bike from scratch after doing all my maintenance by myself. After doing tons of research, I’m currently gathering parts after ordering my XXL frame. I am going to use a 1by Force E1 chain and DUB crankset, rest will be Rival E1 components. Everything is going quite smoothly so far (I think), but I can’t wrap my head around how I am supposed to know what chainline I should get and what chainring offset I should get. Do you guys have any knowledge on what offset I should get? I will use a 44-48t chainring (I’m not entirely sure yet) with a 10-30 rear cassette.


By the way, I paid 913€/1016$ for frame fork seatpost with blue ice crack paint(+160$), thru axles, rear hanger, seatpost cover and shipping to EU, for whoever is interested. Contact with Alisa was pretty smooth, back and forthing with the paint factory wasn’t as optimized though. LT would save a lot of time if they just upload the colours they can do to their website.

See pages 20 or 21. Basically, a 45mm chainline is ideal for both 13spd and 12spd, depending on the chainstays. For 12spd, you can use a 47.5mm chainline if you want. The specific offset will depend somewhat on your crank and spider, so that's a more complicated question. Not sure there are any / many Easton interface chainrings that work with the correct 13spd chainline for a frame with the stays this short.

Thanks for your reply:) Sorry I forgot to mention, I wanted to use a direct mount chainring, as a spider seems unnecessary. But I found it now, Sram has very specific 6.5mm offset chainrings for 1by road setups. Hope I can get my hands on a cheaper one, I can only find red chainrings that are compatible and they cost a staggering 200 bucks.

Its not perfect, but wolftooth has a 6mm offset ring in 48t that is 8 bolt (45.5mm chainline), which was my plan when i was considering a 13 spd 1x build

I’m going to buy this frame soon, but when I asked Rex via the whatsapp listed on longtengbike.com it was a lot more expensive than when I messaged Alisa via ltbikes.com. 900$ via Rex, 620$ via Alisa. Also you can buy the frame via Tideace & Permeants, but they are also more expensive.

I am sorry to hear you feel that my asking price was too high. Have you forgotten that you requested a custom paint job involving three different colors? Alisa's quote of $620 was for a standard, unpainted finish; typically, she would charge an additional $85 for each custom color.
With the three custom colors alone amounting to $255—and adding that to the $620 cost of the frame itself—the total comes to nearly $875. My quote of $900, however, also included a complimentary set of accessories for you, did it not?

Furthermore, I also went to the trouble of sourcing the specific paints you requested.

I hope you are pleased with the final custom piece.

Hi Rex, I think there must have been a misunderstanding. You said the price of the frame was 900 dollars, and 1 paint color would cost 30 dollars. I assumed that the 900$ didn’t include custom paint (because you said it costed 30$ per colour) or shipping ($125), yes you said it’d include headset and thru axles. You’re either covering up a mistake or there has been some kind of misunderstanding? I went through Alisa with sourcing the custom paint, so I don’t really know what you are talking about. Maybe you can clear it up.

I bought the same cover and agree with you.

I thus thought the Defy seatpost would fit and wanted a seatpost mount for my Garmin varia. Ordered one made for the Defy seatpost and it is way too small unfortunately, suggesting the Defy seatpost would not fit at all. I guess the rubber seatpost cover stretches which explains why it fits well.

Hi Rex--I worked with Alisa on my order and she was great to work with. Since you are here, however, I have some suggestions that would hopefully help the community work with you get more frames.

• Create a survey as an order form. This will help customers know the complete list of options and select the right ones. You do not need to name a price up front, though I am sure some customers would really like that. The goal is to reduce the number of emails we need to send.
• Consider adding a Di2 holder, rubber mechanical routing plugs, and redesigned seatpost clamp cover as accessories. The missing parts and the seatpost clamp cover are distracting from an otherwise great frameset
• Also consider upgrading the through axles. I think nicer ones are offered by Mondinice, not sure if you can also supply them, but I suspect customers would pay for lighter-weight thru axles. The current ones don't look like they match the qualities of the frame, even in photos.

I understand that as a factory, you don't want to carry too many accessories or inventory, so maybe the thru-axles are too much, but just fixing the rubber parts would be really helpful.
