LTK266-D-SL, race frame, 680g, <800g w/paint & metal parts (M), fits 35mm+ tires

Hi, I am building up my frame and everything went pretty smoothly so far. Only thing I am not completely understanding yet, did everyone in this sub need to cut their steerer tube? I’ve got a FSA acr no55 LS headset, 40mm of spacers, and a 35mm high stem, and there is still like 25mm of steerer tube coming out of my XXL frame. I was assuming upfront that I wouldn’t need to cut my steerer, because it was an XXL frame and I have pretty high stack. Did everyone in this sub cut their steerer? I am wondering if I am doing something wrong as it’s my first bike build.

Yeah everyone cut their steerer. Personally, i did it twice -- once by a friend who has built scores of bikes, and then a second time by my local mechanic once I was sure i wanted it fully slammed.

Forgive me, for I’m still struggling. I have successfully cut the steerer, but I am not sure whether I have cut it too deep. I have attached a picture of the current situation, wondering whether this would be safe to ride. I am also still not sure about what I need to assemble the fork. I currently have this order:
Proprietary handlebar
Acr adapter
Acr spacers
Acr top cover
Acr split ring
Bearing
Frame
Bearing
Fork

I think I might need another split ring between the bearing & fork am I correct? I have not used the thicker H2630A part, I couldn’t fit it in any of the bearings, and didn’t understand what use it had. It would be nice to be able to find how it works, but there was not a single right tutorial anywhere to explain it to me. I hope one in this chat who has already successfully assembled the bike can make me a guide as to how it works. I’m sorry for asking so many questions, I am quite scared of the dentist so I don’t want it to fail on me while riding.

Hey all, I’ve got an update. I ended up solving my issue, I didn’t need the split ring, but needed the Fsa supplied crown race labelled h2630a. It didn’t fit any of the other bearings because it is made for the 45 degree 45 degree bearing, which is only included in the FSA ACR no55 Low stack version. The pictures on the internet of that headset have two of the same MR127 36 45 bearings, but with the LS version, there is 1 TH MR127 bearing, and 1 TH MR261A bearing. You need to use the MR127 bearing between fork & frame, and the MR261A bearing on the top, then you use the H2630A part, and then the FSA cover, spacers, (adapter), stem. Now I can finally start the rest of the assembly

I'm using an FSA headset and don't have a crown race.
But I'm sure you'll need the C-ring for the top.

I am between sizes on this frame (M & L but leaning towards L). Could you update the build photos in the OP with sizes and links to the posts? Seems like there is only one size L build here unless Im mistaken.

I have finished my build on the weekend and i am absolutely happy with the bike.

Just to avoid future confusion here. The assembly sequence is correct.

Part H2630 is called a compression ring (C-Ring) or split ring. You didn't use the crown race.

Did anyone have trouble screwing in bottle cage screws? Mine were really tight. When I pulled the screw out, it was really hot and the black coating on the threads was rubbed off.
I checked the screws are the right thread and pitch using another bike frame. Maybe my frame's threaded inserts are wrong. Anyone else experience the same issue? My frame is L size, ordered in march.

I had to clean the threads with a tap on one of the inserts for the bottle bolts, looked like some epoxy overrun in the threads.

Just got a pair of new DFS wheels. (for my gravel really)
54 deep, 32.5 internal , 40mm external.

Just had to try a pair of 35mm GP5000 S TR on them. They blow out to 40.7mm on these rims.
And they fit the LongTeng just fine!
I have about 3mm clearance to the front derailleur. 3+ all other places also, so I would say they are about max I would use.
Not bad, and more than I though was possible on this bike!

Mine was delivered including custom paint in about 4 weeks to Netherlands. But there are multiple factors that can influence your delivery time.
