There's separate discussion about the LongTeng model RD301D, head over there to see all the relevant pics of the RD301D, yes including complete RD301D bike.

Hi everyone,

I am a newly registered user after I've been following several threads for quite some time. I got interested in Chinese carbon frames and components during a recent business trip to Shenzhen where I spotted some interesting builds. During my research, I also came across LTBIKE and their LTK266-D-SL frameset looks very promising. The headtube is a bit bulky for my taste but the overall design and specs look great.

Has anyone seen/assembled a complete build and if yes, could you please post some pictures? It's nice to see different images of an actual frame but only a full build makes the picture complete ;-)

Thanks in advance and happy to be part of the community and to exchange with you guys!

From the LT literature: Geometry design is more suitable for Asian type rider.

I don't think it matters much, but something to keep in mind.

this thing seems to be completely identical with Tideace FM-CR266 and also Permeants ST-09 (which is a new retail higher-endish brand of Tideace in mainland china so these two are the same frameset) which are built by Haideli, but i can't be sure if they are "same mold different manufacturer"(common thing for open molds) or one purchasing framesets from the other just for distribution(which means "same manufacturer different retailer").

Looks more to me like same manufacturer, different retailer. As they both don't have XL and XXL sizes available.

It’s a shame those sizes (xl and xxl) aren’t available! Anything similar on the market?

Thanks a lot guys, this is very useful information regarding LTK266-D-SL, Tideace FM-CR266 and Permeants ST-09 being identical! This also becomes apparent when comparing the frame geometries. Overall, the frame is very close the Tarmac SL7 except for the seat tube (15mm shorter on SL7) and the wheelbase (10mm shorter on SL7). I wonder if this is related to what they refer to as "geometric design is more suitable for Asian body types"?

https://geometrygeeks.bike/compare/longteng-266-20xx-m,tideace-fm-cr266-2025-m,specialized-tarmac-sl7-2022-54/

It also appears to me that most posted frame and full build images must be rather small-sized frames, which is why some designs and builds might look a bit awkward.

Afaik, Asian body types usually means lower bikes with more reach (i guess on average Asians have shorter legs?). And the cycling population is young and demands aggressive bikes, whereas the west is getting old and people increasingly demand more relaxed geometries. That's my read of it anyway.

I don't think it matters much, but something to keep in mind.

The first time I saw the Asian geometry thing pop up was on the Seka Exceed. The founder of that brand is (allegedly since I dont know him) a prolific bike fitter and his claim was that because of shorter legs and arms that the bike geometry needed a lower standover and shorter reach. This was a huge marketing thing along with their messaging that their RDC frames were made in the same factory as Factor.

The result was the opposite of what Serge suggested since you ended up with a size range with relatively high stacks for their reach and seatpost position. Not at all unlike what Serge claims the western market needs more of.

The branded bikes from Bross, Elilee, etc, are all higher stack for their reach than most of their western counterparts, but this is more of a result of a focus on shorter reach rather than an intent; so it does seem like the smaller sizes end up better sorted than the larger ones. I think the open molds being low is a result of copying geometries of older bikes.

Regarding this frame. I feel like I have gone like 8 rounds with Alisa and still dont have an invoice to pay. This is really the factory ordering experience.

I took a look at Haideli last night and interestingly their factory page lists the 266 (not SL) with a bb86 and lower spec carbon. They also seem to share an address with LT and share the same photo of the factory.

My thought is that they could be part of the same cooperative factory, they are both just agents for the actual factory, or there is some Flybike > Carbonda > QuickPro like thing going on where they have setup different front ends to provide the “right” level of support to purchasers depending on their size.

It gets confusing very quickly with all these open/shared molds, a dense network of suppliers, agents, etc. Has anyone ever visited a factory? I guess this is the only way to find out where the frames are really made...?

I just assume the supply chain looks like Charlie Kelly trying to figure out who Pepe Silvia is.

Interested in buying the frame and just found this video from Permeants. Thought some might be interested.

LT uses open moulds, so you'll see the same frame offered elsewhere. Idk what Permeants is, but between tideace and LT, i'll take LT every day of the week. My daily driver is a LT 268.

Afaik, Asian body types usually means lower bikes with more reach (i guess on average Asians have shorter legs?). And the cycling population is young and demands aggressive bikes, whereas the west is getting old and people increasingly demand more relaxed geometries. That's my read of it anyway.

I havent looked closely at the 266 geo. I can tell you the 268 geo is better for me than an SL7/8 because it's more relaxed, while being fast, and it absolutely feels like a road bike.

Every message you post is about your LT268
I want one now  ::)
