I just tried making a 36 and a 45 gauge with some old plastic cards.  I honestly can't tell which it is! It's such a small section to measure.

Sakizashi

OK, so tried out a few bearings. The 45° ones sit higher on the crown race. I think this indicates to me that the 36° is the correct bearing, as it's the bottom edge, not the top edge of the chamfer, that's limiting the wrong size bearing. My grease trick didn't work as well as I had hoped. That said, the bike visually looks the same from the outside with the 40x52x7mm 45°/45° vs. 40x51.8x8mm 36°/45°

The one that is obviously wrong is  40x52x8mm 45°/45°. I am going to assume that Alisa's information is correct and that the headset parts some of you received were incorrect. The correct bearing set should then be the FSA No. 55R

Re:Entry

Hello,

I am considering buying an LTK266-D-SL in size L. I would like to use it as a road bike for long distances but als a few faster group rides (40+ kph). I am 183 cm tall and have an inseam of 84 cm.

 I currently ride a Carbonda CFR707 in M.

74 cm saddle height
94 mm saddle setback
90 mm stem

My racing bike is a Pinarello Prince 54.5 with rim brakes, and I want the LTK to replace the Prince.

I would like to ride the LTK with a 100 mm Deda Alanera RS. I think that would be about right.

How much setback do you ride? Is there a seat post with setback?

Which Ritchey part did you replace the LTK seat post with? Does anyone have a link?

How satisfied are you with the quality? In some pictures you can see a void in the carbon. Does anyone ride a Carbonda and can compare the quality?

Regarding the headset:
I would use an FSA No55 at the bottom.
At the top, however, I have to use the DEDA DCR headset, otherwise it won't fit the stem.

Thank yopu!

Kind regards from germany

Would be interested in that as well.

Also greetings from Germany ;)

my sense of relief is immeasurable  :o I was pretty confident it was the FSA bearings that were correct, but the uncertainty sewed by @contraptions was tearing said confidence asunder. Thank you so much @Sakizashi for doing this testing!

1. I will start with the headset -- You seem to know this, but to be clear for everyone lurking: you can get the DEDA DCR package with a 36/45 bottom bearing -- https://dedaelementi.com/headset-dcr  (look at the spec sheet) -- and this should work perfectly well based on my (brief) testing.

2. LTK vs Prince -- https://geometrygeeks.bike/compare/pinarello-prince-fx-disk-2021-545,longteng-ltk-266-d-sl-2025-l/ measurements look pretty damn close! So you shouldn't have much of a problem transferring your fit. I have similar measures with slightly longer inseam. I run a much longer stem but that's all preference and individual fit.

3. The LTK266-D-SL only comes with a zero offset seatpost. I run a similar setback to you, and I was coming from a 15mm offset post on my BMC. On the LTK I had to move my seat back on the rails to compensate, but I was still able to keep a 90mm-100mm setback. I am currently experimenting with that, though, because on the BMC hardware, I didn't have room to experiment with a position any further forward than ~90.

4. Cannot speak to replacing the saddle clamp parts. I made sure Alisa included clamps for 7x9 carbon rails, but I'm still using the same hardware. The single bolt design is a drag and the stuff is somewhat heavy, but I couldn't find a better replacement. It's the design itself that sucks, not necessarily the parts?

5. Will let those more knowledgeable in china carbon speak to frame quality comparisons. The thing rides great.

Yes, thanks you very much and I apologise for the concern caused.

Re:Entry

Thanks for the info!

Does anyone here ride a white frame?

I'm thinking of buying a white and purple one, similar to the Scott model.

Would you like to post your bikes?

Thanks and best regards!

No worries, it's a legitimate concern, and honestly, it's tough to tell the difference. I also had the same question during assembly, as a 36° molded CR isn't common, IME. However, I'm not familiar with too many factory-direct frames, so my references are mostly branded. Based on my review and confirmation from Alisa three times (she sent another note this morning), I am confident that the 40x51.8x8mm 36°/45° is the correct bearing.

Which Ritchey part did you replace the LTK seat post with? Does anyone have a link?

I am the guy who briefly fitted a Ritchey part. I ended up not using it because it was heavier. I also swapped out the stock bolt for a ti M6x55 one. I am a pretty light-weight rider, so that doesn't worry me. The Ritchey part is this one, and yes, it does work a lot better because the rubber thing stays in place and keeps the assembly together when loosening and adjusting it.

I'm not sure if you have any spares that came with the Alanera, but what you need is a Deda ACR C ring. This should have been in the box. Otherwise, they are like 5 euros from Deda or a Deda distributor. These are Grey in color and says 36°x45° on them. You put that on top of the FSA or other 40x51.8x8mm 36°/45° bearing and you should be good to go. I think Deda uses a universal design for their headset covers between the different fitments, but that's worth checking, as the 36° and 45° setups vary by about 0.5mm or so.

You can also use the Deda bearing for the upper part of the headset. That bearing is 40x51.8x8mm 45°/45° and should be paired with their black C ring. Either solution should work.

Ive had a couple of open molds from Flybike/Carbonda as well as a branded frame from Flybike. This bike is much nicer than those were, particularly in terms of not being too stiff in the rear while still being laterally stiff around the BB. That said, my last frame from them was a gravel bike purchased in 2018 and retired in 2024, so I don't know much about their current models.

Hi there,

I am close to pulling the trigger here (X68 and R088 are the other options I am havin on my mind). Any recommendations here?

For the LTK266-D-SL - Is there any whatsapp contact or is the best way to jsut inquire through the long teng website?

How much was frame + handlebar for you?

Thank you very much :)

I emailed with Alisa: longtengalisa@163.com

Hi there,
How much was frame + handlebar for you?

The base price was $610 USD + shipping + taxes, etc., for the frame—no idea on the handlebars.

While I get the bling factor of a one-piece, the LTK options are heavy and lacking. The cheap headsets LTK has supplied have also been a problem for a few folks. I personally run 2-piece front ends on all my bikes, primarily for the adjustability. I strongly suggest getting an FSA NO 55R and the SMR stem. The SMR stem is a bit on the heavy side, but it looks nice, and with most bars, it isn't much heavier than LTK's one-piece options. Alternatively, you could get the FSA NO.69 SRS headset and pair it with any stem (like the Kalloy Uno) and then have your pick of bars. The latter route would be about the same weight as most 1-piece combos.

You could also make the FSA No 55R headset work with something like the XMCS one-piece if you really wanted to go that way.

I have no experience with either of these frames, so the only thing I can say is that the LTK should be significantly lighter. Most of the weights slung about are marketing weights (unpainted, bare frame only), but if you look at the real weights, the LTK 266 D SL is 250g-350g lighter as a frameset (frame + fork + seatpost + metal bits) than those frames. Unlike the X68, it's also not a shady replica/fake from a shady seller.

I continue to be really impressed with mine and think that, for the price paid, this frame has no business being this good. I wish I had a Speeder SC55 to compare it to.

I'm also floored with how good this bike is for the price. Did another long ride this morning. Wow.

If you get just the frame with no extras (i.e. don't add in their headset or an extra derailleur hanger, etc.) it will come in around $950USD shipped to the US, including shipping, duties, and transaction fees.
The handlebars I believe are $85. But the length and width options are very limited, and it is heavy. Better to go aftermarket and pair it with a bar and stem combo that lets you dial in your fit, or if you know your exact measurements, spring for an integrated barstem combo that matches the quality of the frame.

In the process of calculating expected costs for the build. Would you mind sharing what bar / stem combo you used (and how satisfied you are with it). Any additional costs for frame and handlebar to be considered?

Thx :)

I would rather get this frame than the rest you listed. You can also try Speeder or LC.
