Any updates?

I don’t know if this question was for me but..

First ride done, no major issues other than the seatpost slipping but I didn’t apply carbon paste yet so I did now.
I was happy with the comfort of the bike, because after a few years only 40mm+ tyres I was a little bit scared for a harsh ride but I was surprised even with the 30mm tyres and carbon spokes.
Other than that I don’t know what to report can’t really comment on the layup it felt fine I guess  not too stif or flexible.

Did you install the seatpost wedge with wider and roughter texture or the standard one because mine came with two different ones?

That's a beautiful bike you got there @Ghandy!

I think the front of the bike looks much better with the new fork.

I assume you already have it set up to fit on these pictures. Reassures me the 55 is the size for me at 186cm with 86cm inseam.

I think there's a recommendation for the seatpost wedge in this thread to grease the sides that sit against the frame so it doesn't get stuck on the frame instead of pressing against the seatpost. Not sure it's still relevant with the apparently new wedge..?

Did you end up having to use that facing tool on the brake mounts? How did it go?

Yes the saddle height is correct in the pictures and I did order another handlebar in 36 cm because that fits me better. I think you made the correct choice but you could’ve make it work with the size 52 I think. I like the look of the 52 better than the 55.

I will grease the sides didn’t know that, I did grease where the two halves meet.

And I did use my facing tool and the alignment was straightforward after that. Though the tool didn’t clamp very well on the axle so I had to keep it level myself.

I think you made the correct choice but you could’ve make it work with the size 52 I think. I like the look of the 52 better than the 55.

I definitely see what you're saying and it's not an easy choice.

Technically I should get roughly the same amount of seatpost showing that you have assuming you also have 165 cranks. It's the 18mm taller headtube I'm not so sure about but I have some ideas for custom painting that should help with that.

Yes I have 165 mm cranks and 83 cm inseam. I have around 17 cm seatpost sticking out and 745 mm saddle height from the bb.

Received my new wheels yesterday and took them for a fun test ride this evening.

I love them, they feel great!

Very planted and not harsh at all, mind you I don’t have much experience with carbon road bike wheels but they feel better than the KORE wheels I used before them. They gave me a lot of confidence in the corners and felt very comfortable.

The only thing that’s left are the new bars and then it’s finished!

So similar to what is discussed here in the latest posts, right? Just in your case it was the clamping on the axle and not the other arm. I guess they don't have great tolerances but imagine it could be fixed with some tape?

I could’ve tried tightening the thru axle some more. But it wasn’t really a problem for me, because of this I could move it away easily to check my progress.

When I ask VB to send me that 3d printed dust cover for the LC bar, that's all I need, right? It's not an 'adapter'?

Cause LC also offers a variety of adapters which got me confused but looks like it's simply custom dust cover -> spacers -> handlebar -> top cap, correct?

Did you end up fixing the clearance issues with wider bearings like @gribs suggested?

How much do you need to pay for the cover? My new bars fit in the old cover but it isn’t perfect. It doesn’t really bother me but if it’s not expensive I might consider it.

Nothing but that doesn't necessarily mean anything I think. I ordered the frame without handlebars/stem and asked for the custom cover from the start. They'll refund me a small amount for no handlebar but I'm also getting custom paint without extra fee. At least that's the communication so far.
