Anyone knows if it is necessary to fit this black ring and if so, where? The headset seems to be fine without it. I have no idea where it should even be as it doesnt sit "flush" anywhere.

I didn't use it, I think it's not necessary

I didn't install it either; it works fine for me without it. However, with the VB TT023, it does need to be used.

Thanks for your answers guys. Chris sent me this installation guide (not sure if it is already posted here) which doesn't include the crown race ring :)

I don't have this bike, but pretty much every time I get a creak or talk to someone else who is experience creaking that they say is from the BB, 9 times out of 10, it is not in the BB. Last time I had creaking, I removed my through axles, cleaned off the dropouts and axles, greased it, torqued it to spec and the creaking stopped.

Got shipping update. My frame will likely arrive tomorrow. Only 11 days after tracking number was created.

Still waiting on a delivery of parts. Checking in on the order it's probably stalled because the miche BB I ordered has suddenly sold out indefinitely everywhere.

What BB did you guys install in your builds? Not sure if I absolutely need one that's advertised at 86.5mm instead of 85.5mm..? Haven't dealt with T47 yet.

Thinking about a BBinfinite with steel bearings at this point. Considering they also include a tool it's not even that much more expensive than a mid-range two cup one that requires you to buy their fancy tool. Just wish they had a reseller in Europe.

I just used a sram bb. I don’t really think 85.5 or 86.5 matter only thing is maybe the sleeve will be a little too short.

I rode side to side with someone about the same height and weight as me who has a Canyon Aeroad CF SLX7. Here is the data (I'm the one with 234W). Things to note is that he has a size 56 and I have a size 58, and I think that my position on the bike was a bit more aerodynamic.

How do the aero bottles line up with the down tube?

Here’s my setup for your attention.
SL7 Stem is temporary as I am going to install 150 mm -12 degrees Velobike Longboi stem and eliminate all spacers and top cap.
