Got it a bit more assambled as I wait for the last parts to arrive in the next few days. BB threaded in easily by hand. Lower headset bearing snug but easy to fit by hand, while top bearing required a bit more force, but still possible by hand.

The custom top cover I got VB to print fits nicely with the spacers for the LC HBR17 handlebar except it didn't have the two small holes that each spacer has. Now I checked I see that the CAD I got from LC and sent to VB doesn't include those (as they didn't send CAD for spacer but rather just the headset top cap), so not any fault of VB. I filed off the two small tabs on the lowest spacer and then all should be good (as it still locks to the top cap by being sunk into it).

Next up is needing to cut the seat post and install the saddle, then put on shifters when those arrive and check the position before cutting the fork steerer.

Could you share this 3D spacer? I asked Lexon, but they haven't responded. I can compare and send it to Chris to see if it's the same.

Update about my issues. Velobuild and Chris have been amazing about my seatpost struggles and are sending me a new seatpost and seatpost clamp. They have been helpful with all possible problems and in understanding them.

Wow I live in Porto too, the second VB-R-386 will arrive in Porto soon!

Porto is the only city I've visited around the world that my wife and I could see ourselves living abroad. We have a soft spot for second cities. The people there have warm hearts.

Had another spin on her today. English winter shite weather so not pushing hard, but the cheeky headwind here and there was a useful test ground.
I think  the position I can adopt on this is going to be quite the game changer. Aero and sustainable, for me at least.
Steep seat angle and relatively high stack is very comfortable with hands on hoods/horizontal forearms. I think I may go full Arne/Jan-Willem and pop a higher stem on to try for a semi praying mantisy set up just to see.
5'10 and on the 58 btw
Have popped my nice XMCS wheels on it which has added to the fun and made it feel very lively. On the scales it's a good kilo and a half heavier than my FL1 but I don't notice it on the road.
I know Patrick compared it to a 2003 Nissan Zee, and totally respect that, but for me it's more like an AM Vanquish or Bentley Conti GT. She's not like a whip crack, all nervous skittering energy, but will lift her skirts and progress at a fair lick if you give her some oomph

Slowly progressing with the build here. Cut the seat post and installed the Di2 battery and ran the cable to the RD (cut off ~135mm or 66g and the 3D printed Di2 battery holder incl. bolt and nut is 48g, so the cut seat post incl. saddle clamp but without the battery holder is 274g, a bit better than the total uncut package at 388g).

The battery holder seems a bit too big for the seat post, however. On the attached picture I've shoved it up as far as I can (with the clamping bolt loose). I think it'll stay since the clamping part has some engagement, but will be interesting to hear how others have found it - I take it we'll only be a few using this solution as it seems they've now changed the Di2 battery mount to the down tube. If others have found the fitment good I'll do a double check and see if I've missed something.

FWIW the seat post seems to fit the frame hole quite well being snug so the clamp only needs a bit of tightening before it engages with the seat post.

5'10 on a 58? is that 180cm in metric? i've just had a sizing an it turned out to be the 55, interesting as we are technically the same height
