Thanks for the help! I may have a 180mm rotor in one of the parts box, need to look into it.
Edit: looking at my aliexpress purchase history i definitely have some 180mm rotors in part boxes, so I am good to proceed with the built.
Front end assembly tonight and brake line flush, should be able to go on a test ride this weekend.
I have to admit i have really mixed feelings, excited for the new built but sad to take apart my first chiner…

another little issue, the thry axle bolt head is too big diameter to slide in the recess in the brake side chainstay. I used the TA from my SPcycle, worked fine, but be careful, if you try to use as is it will more than likely come lose and potentially damge your paint.

First weight taken tonight at 10.3kg with nobby tires, heavy ass pedals, power meter but without the chain. I think i can probably get the weight at 10-10.1kg with summer XC tires which would be phenomenal I think!

Yes finished a bit late last night for pictures, still left to do:
Cable for rear shock control
Flush the brake lines
Put a chain on it
Cut the stickers and put the PPF on it

A couple more things to do but getting close. Need to research more on dripper post, not pleased with how I did it, and rear shock to be cabled.
Also the alignment of the chainring is not good, needs to be moved inboard by 3mm I think to have it aligned with middle of cassette.
All front end will also need to come apart to add a 0.5mm spacer to eliminate rubbing and allow better headset compression…

You must disassemble the cable mount or holder on the rear shock, and then you can rotate the cable holder onto the outer cable.

The first test ride was successful. Some optimizations are still needed, including the cables at the front.

Does a 750ml bottle fit on a vertical mount side?


Deem, In photo it looks like a horizontal 750 ml bottle will rest against shox lockout cable. Is this true? What is your frame size?

750ml botte won’t fit I think.

I have play in the rear triangle I need to chase.

Ok so maje sure you check all the rear triangle hardware,  everything was loose on mine, it needs to be torqued to spec.
Everything is now good and working. I have headset play to address, the Cring is not high enough and my headset spacer bottom piece is hitting the bearing cover before i have full compression of headset assembly, should have tested that better before connecting everything.
Other than that the bike looks fantastic!

I had the same thing on FM138. I put a two millimeter headset spacer under the spacer bottom piece to lift it higher. Cables had still enough room to move. I hope the FM358 is no different.
