HongFu TM77 TT

Stumbled across a new listing on the HongFu website for a newly released (2025) Triathlon/TT bike, the TM7 - https://www.hongfu-bikes.com/products/80.html

Seems to be sold either direct or under the 'Avenger' brand. Looks similar to the Ican TT017, though with a slightly larger bento storage (maybe?) above the BB and a different cocpit. Sizes from XS to XL, which seems broader than some other TT bikes available at the moment.

Looking to pull the trigger on a triathlon bike myself over the coming months, and the Velobuild VBTT023 is the current favourite

Anyone else come across this frame in the wild? Would be great to hear about others experiences!

I'm don't know much about TT bikes but isn't 2500usd a bit expensive?

Here is the other thread on it. From my understanding it is still in development and the designer is no longer working with hongfu, I could be wrong though... He is doing a lot of testing with the culprit who makes the cockpit. I can't tell if he is saying the factory doesn't want to test/make the cockpit better or the whole bike/cockpit.

It is expensive for a chinese one, Seems most of them run in the 1-1500 USD range except the weird at 1900 USD (I wish these were similarly priced to standard road frames but idk). Name brand (Specialized, Quintana roo, Giant, Cervelo) frames tend to run 4000+ for just the frame/fork. I find it hard to find good deals in the used market too, Like people are selling their 10+ yr old tt bike for 4500 or their 2 year old for $200 off msrp

Hongfu is the normal OEM and avenger is the DTC. as for the name, it looks like HongFu follows this FMXXX(TMX) naming scheme on their TT bikes so I guess its easy to be confused.

I think the Paint/Decals are quite ugly and the base bar looks like it is designed around SRAM hydro brake levers. It doesn't flow into the shimano ones in the pics on the avenger site.

Agree Serge, though slightly concerned about cockpit flexibility on the Ican TT from the comments in the thread and very few others that have one.

Have you made the plunge on your TT/triathlon bike yet?

It seems to be a quite decent package (integrated bento; storage compartment; 30C clearance) but on the higher end of the cost spectrum for a Chinese DTC Frame. Also not sure about the aerodynamics of it. But the nearest Western / big brand frame comparison I can get at a close price (although $1000 difference really close) is the Vanquish Tri 2.0.
