HEZO 3D Printed Cycling shoes

Okay, finally! I have just got the package from HEZO, rather long waiting, I have almost forgot I ordered it, but the first impressions are...very good!  Those shoes are really wide! I try them and those are really comfortable and ideal for my feet! Of course, only try them on the floor. Weight for one is around 340 g, in my opinion are really stiff, I tried to bend them, no possibility. The magnetic closure is very nice. Those my first impressions, later I will provide an unboxing video.

I have been using the Helu Two shoes for several weeks now, and I can confirm that they are extremely comfortable. The “true wide” fit is perfect for my feet. The carbon sole remains incredibly stiff with absolutely no flex, and the magnetic closure continues to stand out as a practical and well-designed feature.

The shoes also feature a specific marking located exactly midway between the 1st and 5th metatarsal bones, which is excellent for precise cleat alignment and positioning.

One minor drawback is the limited rearward adjustment for the cleats. There is only about 5 mm of adjustment range toward the heel, which is worth keeping in mind if you prefer a mid-foot or very rearward cleat position.

On a side note, I just received notification that my Wolfland 01 gravel shoes were shipped today! As with the Helu Two, the waiting time was quite significant, it took around 16 weeks from order to shipping.

I just want to provide an update, I'm just after around 5 rides. Two rather hard including FTP test and vo2max workout. At the moment I'm very satisfied with the shoes. You can check my photo and comparision of dimentions the Hezo and "old" and previous DMT KR1 giro edition which I love. For one intevral I swaped Hezo for DMT, those was unbelievebly narrow after a second! My foot really qucikly adapt to new shoes. Previously I felt no issues in my DMT on rides shorter thna 5h. After that and riding hard in the Mountins I felt some or big discomfort, depening on the conditions and ride. Even 03 so let say not the higest model is really stiff, I triried to bend them, you can check on the video and no option! I like very stiff shoes however I decided to go with Helo 03, due to the pink color, I'm not dissapointed.

Lastly, I just was to point out the bigest issues and disadvantage of the Hezo so the production and delivery time! I ordered Helo 03 around July/August, I got it on my birthday so 30th of December :lol:

Are your feet that wide or it's just the shoe itself looks that?

Rather it looks like this, but for sure are wider. I don't know if my feet is very wide or not, it's around 104 mm. The inner shoe is narrower, but wider and a bit longer than the original DMT kr1 insole.

I wonder how hard it would be to 3d print something like a Hanseeno--no boas, no multiple layers, basically just a carbon sock.

The shoe is very stiff. More stiff than my Shimano RC7 shoes.

I have the Helu Two Carbon version, and I’m finally getting my Wolfland gravel shoes on Friday. Then I’ll be able to compare the regular version with the carbon version, although I don’t think there will be much difference in stiffness. I’ll let you know what I find out. The carbon version only comes in black, only the inner shoe is available in different colors.

how are the cleats positioned comparing to your current shoes?
Overall, how to they feel? Just plastic? What about breathability?

on the shoes you have a "marking" where the cleats should be located based on your 3D scan. My current DMT were aligned during the bike fitting. I tried to "transfer" the angle on the Hezo, I didn't feel any discomfort so maybe I managed to do that. I needed to lower the saddle a bit, Hezo are lower in my opinion. Overall, I'm very happy! Yes, those are let say it - plastic. But only the outer shoe. The inner shoe is soft, it has small imperfections but they are imperceptible, very comfortable. The outer shoe has some small ventilation holes, as for now, I rode only on smart trainer, no overheating and over sweating, but we will see during summer.

Please could someone with these shoes comment on the stiffness or flexibility of the heel counter?

In other words, is it like stiff plastic at the back of the shoe, or can you fold it over/press it together?

I need a shoe with a soft heel counter due to achilles issues, which is really hard to find in cycling shoes.

I will make some update video, I will show the inner shoe and I will try to bend it  in general, shoes are stiff, the plastic outer shoe is very stiff, but the inner is very soft. Check their website, I don't what what it is but it's definitely a different material. Moreover, I believe that after some time that inner shoe need to be replaced, as It's soft and probably it will deformate a bit.

I got my Wolfland gravel shoes yesterday, and after comparing them, I honestly can’t notice any difference in stiffness between the regular and the carbon versions. The Helu 03 is completely sufficient.
