New Tantan Seraph X71 - Replica Factor Ostro VAM V2 (UDH)

Howdy,

seems like Tantan/Seraph is releasing another heavily inspired replica frame.
This time, it is a obvious copy of the Factor Ostro VAM V2.

The only information I could find are a few pictures.
No info on geometry yet, no frontal view to see the hourglass headtube.

Weight of the painted frame (size medium or large, i guess) is 1123 g including UDH, FD mount AND headset bearings. So the bare frame might be quite a bit lighter.

Seems like tantan is having lots of success with selling fakes. Still no clue if they are the manufacturer of this frame.

LoL ohhhh so this is the new frame TanTan wanted me to review instead of the X68.

EDIT: I have local buddies here racing at the Pro/Cat 1/A-Grade level using actual fake Factor Ostro with no issues. They just had to swap in a genuine Factor integrated cockpit, as the fake one was too flexy.

Ostro vam frame is 900g according to Factor, I guess this frame is 1050g without the UDH and headset bearing. Pretty similar to the weight difference between a real SL8 and the X68 frame. Interested to see if the geometry is actually identical…

Looks like geo is basically identical <58? The 58cm size starts to differ in chainstay length. Also claimed 30mm tire clearance which is odd.

This frame has the same inconsistencies with the real thing that the Fauxtros on the counterfeit thread has. Seat stay junction and BB area are a slightly different shape. Fork dimensions and hose inlet are off.

However, the one thing that stood out to me is their UDH implementation. The pics aren't good, but this doesn't look like it's compatible with the direct mount road XPLR RDs. The RD hanger also doesn't appear to be able to rotate back, as the stop feature on the frame is positioned above the center axis UDH frame attachment interface. I kind of want someone to buy one to see if this is really the case, but if it were the case, your frame could quickly become a write-off.
