XCADEY VENTUS Carbon Cranks + PM
« on: August 14, 2025, 01:00:04 AM »
Does anybody know anything about these?

They are available for a rather competitive price ATM. My Magene PM died and since I’m thinking about trying shorter cranks anyway, I’m eyeing these. Not a fan of the proprietary spider interface, though.

I remember xcadey say their spider mount is actually cross compatible with sram 3 bolt gxp mount.

I have 2 xcadey power meters, one was really accurate compared to my home trainer, and the other was completely off. We are talking +100 watts more. However you can adjust the power in their app, so after calibrating to my home trainer it's now perfect.

So in essence, I would only advise to buy an xcadey powermeter, if you have something to compare the watts to.
That price for carbon cranks + pm is really nice tbh. I paid about +400 usd for lexon carbon cranks and xcadey pm.

The listing isn't very complete. Only the title and one picture have the PM. I would be extra cautious and make sure the price isn't just for the cranks. I also find it hideous, but that's just my taste

The crank + PM is 519 EUR on Xcadey’s website. I’ve asked the shop what is included. I’ll see what they say.

I'm also curious, but I'd guess this offer is without PM. If the PM would be included, the price would be competitive. The crank itself isn't any lighter than the leese (but looks better to me :)). Both my xcadey PMs work great.

The seller confirmed to me twice that the listing does indeed include the cranks and the PM.
I ordered a set. Apparently they only have the PM in the 4bolt Shimano configuration. That’s fine with me.

wow, this would be great! Please report back :)
Is the shimano 4-bolt standard the same as the "normal" 110 bcd? Or is there special attention needed when looking for compatible chain rings?

It's 110 BCD with 4 bolts. BCD 110 and 130 with 5 bolts used to be more or less the de facto standard for the longest time. Not so much anymore these days.
The 4 bolt interface is compatible with original Shimano chainrings. Well, and there's plenty of aftermarket chainrings for Shimano cranks on Ali and everywhere else. So finding compatible chainrings shouldn't be much of a problem.

Turns out it’s not that simple. I asked the seller about chainring compatibility and they said that the crank is only compatible with Xcadey’s own chainrings. When checking the Xcadey website, it says there that the PM has the BCD110 4H road standard. Whatever that means. So I asked the European distributor if these cranks are compatible with Shimano chainrings and they wrote:

“Yes, it’s compatible with spider 110BCD 4s”

I was under rhe assumption that this PM uses basically the same BCD pattern as the Magene spiders and all the others on Aliexpress and is therefore compatible with the available aftermarket chainrings from Stone, Zrace and the like and also with Shimano chainrings. Maybe someone with a PES515 crankset can chime in. This appears to have the same standard.

I’m a bit confused now whether I will have to buy new chainrings or can just mount the Ultegra rings that I got on my Magene P505 currently.

Pes is 110bcd

Also talked with Ali vendor, pricing makes no sense:
XCadey alone, $290
XCadey and chainring $290
XCadey, chainring and SLX crankset $275

SLX with chainring sells for $60 on same shop.

Allowing for some extra savings for larger order, I offered $230 for XCadey alone. They have it in SRAM 3 bolt interface to mate with my Riro carbon crankset and I’ll get a passquest ring…

XCadey is available with different chainring and crankset interfaces:

I suspect the confusion is the difference between which chainrings can mount direct to the crank and which fit with a power meter/spider fitted.

I agree. The pricing makes no sense at all. I’ll see what eventually turns up and I guess I’ll try to put my Shimano chainrings on there. If that won’t fit, I get aftermarket chainrings.

The seller replied:
“I asked the staff of Xcadey, and they said that general chainring and 4-hole 110bcd are compatible.”

So, I reckon that this the spider does indeed just have the regular 4 bolt pattern that Shimano and all the aftermarket chainrings use.

Their response to my request of more logical pricing: you can buy direct from XCadey lol

I also ordered these cranks as seems good price with coupon, albeit not much info available about them. Seller just messaged me a couple of things that might be helpful to others:
- "The screw on our right crank is incorrectly marked as 40-50Nm. In fact, it needs to be tightened to 35-40Nm. Please do not tighten it according to our marked 45-50Nm."
- And they say 175 is "out of stock" and would I be ok with 172.5? Unless somebody knows otherwise, I suspect that 175 may not exist (given sizes listed elsewhere).

I might personally go ahead with this shorter crank as I don't think it really matters that much (and already use 170 on the trainer as a compromise with my OH). Worst case can use the PM on some other Easton standard cranks...

Edit: per a comment above, sounds as if PM is 3 bolt compatible, not Easton.
