XCADEY VENTUS Carbon Cranks + PM

XCadey uses their own 5 bolt pattern, no other cranks use it. It looks kinda similar to the SRAM three bolt but with the bolts in a pentagon rather than a triangle. Not sure of any cross compatibility.

I'll verify if it's cross compatible with Sram's 3 bolt pattern, when it arrives. It should be here this week.
The Xcadey PM obviously has 5 bolts. I have various Sram spiders and a broken Magene PM with 3 bolts lying around. I'll see if they fit.

Thanks - it'd be excellent if you can test both ways (i.e. whether a 3-bolt PM fits on the XCadey crank, and whether the XCadey 5-bolt PM fits on a 3-bolt crank).

Looks from the cutout pattern that it probably should but looks can be deceiving!

I’d be a worried that transferring the torque through 3 bolts rather than 5 results in the mounts on the XCadey shearing.

Most of the torque would be transferred trough the splined interface, if the fit is correct, and not through the bolts.

I've had good experience with a XCadey Gen 2 spider power meter on my MTB (The 3-bolt 104BCD version). So pulled the trigger on this crank+PM to replace a faulty 4iii (left-crank based) PM on my road bike.

Not super familar with SRAM standards but yes can see 3 bolt might potentially fit (albeit not necessarily a good idea!) 3 bolt is out-dated anyway, so does seem if you get this PM you will be committed to those Xcady cranks. ~£300 seems a decent deal for PM carbon crankset but there is just so little information about these cranks and they're not 'that' cheap... (going to price up other options, and might cancel)

Note that vendor has offered the old xcadey alu crankset if I really want 175. Limited value in that given goal was to lose weight compared to Ultegra with LHS PM (might as well get Magene P515)!

It is cheap for what it is - a carbon crank with 24mm titanium spindle. From what I can see, there's no cheaper option than that for an equivalent spec. A Leese Pro with an XCadey Easton power meter comes pretty close at about $380 USD.

You'd probably be the only person left wanting a 175mm crank in this world where everyone is going shorter! I'm not surprised that most manufacturers would not even make them any more for new models with demand so low.

The torque between the chainring and the PM is transmettez through the bolts, the interface between the chainring and the crank is just another point on transmission as far as I understand it.

The splined interfaces would be making direct contact way before there would be any significant shear stress going through the bolts. To get to that much force on the bolts, that entire splined interface would have to fail and shear off, and that's just not happening at human torques. Besides, no reason for 3 bolts on xcadey to be weaker than 3 bolts on standard sram. It's supposed to be the exact same design, just adding another two bolts, presumably to get around the patent.

I have the old gen 1 pm, and the 5 bolt design is compatible with SRAM 3 bolt. It's likely the same thing here.

Is this only cransket or cransket+ power meter?

Because the description on AliExpress page says nothing about power meter.

It's also pretty heavy. Bigrock is better option for 24mm imo.

I'm very interested in those cranks, but I really do need more info before buying them, what is axle's length, how much does this powermeter goes back to bottom bracket, what is the diameter of powermeter's inner circle from bb side (I have t47 bb, so I want to check twice that the PM won't rub my frame and vice versa). Hope to hear these parameters from Sebastian.

I can confirm that it’s the cranks and the PM in the legit original Xcadey packaging, including a very good installation manual and instructions etc.

The spider interface definitely looks to be SRAM compatible. Haven’t tried it but I’m 99% sure.

Edit: I paid 371 EUR. DHL asked for another 17 EUR of customs and handling fee upon arrival. So 388 EUR in total. The seller did not offer any shipping method with customs clearance included. So be aware that there is a risk involved.
