I have Maxxis Ramblers in 700x50 on 23mm internal rims. They measure slightly wider than that. They're isn't much more room on the rear so I wouldn't go wider than that. The fork has a little more clearance but not much.

Due to some really bad spinal issues with a ruptured disc and pinched nerves this year (bad even by the standards of someone who’s had back problems and other disabilities for decades), I haven’t been able to ride my 707. I tried a few weeks ago and immediately regretted it.

Even if I recover, I’m worried about its position — despite a short stem with rise plus riser shallow drop bars — making recurrences more likely.

My choices are sell it or do a flat bar conversion that’s as upright as possible. I’ve had trouble finding any example flat bar 707 builds or getting clear on what would be enough of a change in body position without just starting over on a purpose-specific flat bar gravel bike.

Input would be greatly appreciated.

Finally got my frame built. All in all an excellent experience with great customer service from Tina, especially the back and forth on the custom paint ideas.

Had it built locally by a bit of a high end road snob, and he was pleasantly surprised with the quality. He faced the BB (only needed a very light skim) and brake mounts - only need to clean up the paint overspray.

58cm CRF-707, Gloss raw carbon to ivory fade. Went the non internal routing, and used my own mix of headset - Hope IS52 on the bottom (love the selaed split crown race), and the Ritchey IS52 on top. Other pretty standard stuff - Newman bar / stem, Force wide cranks, GRX810 1x11. Only treat for myself was the Hope Calipers.

Finished building my Carbonda CFR-707.

I built this in my room as a winter project. Everything went really well, and it’s an absolute joy to ride. I love the lightweight feeling and the simplicity of the mechanical 1x drivetrain. The weight is under 9 kg. The photo was taken in Germany – Hessen.

That’s normal in my experience.

The only weird thing that’s happened for me with Carbonda lately is that Wing hasn’t answered an email I sent a month ago about a replacement parts kit (hardware and bearings) for FM1002. I assumed at first it was due to Chinese New Year but at this point I don’t think that’s the only reason.

Hi Guys I'm new to this forum. Just wanted to add my build in case it might help anyone in the future, feel free to ask questions (regarding parts, compatibility etc.).
When I made my build reading through this forum was a great help.

I modified the left lever of the Sensah Empire Pro to actuate the dropper post. The shifters are compatible with the Sensah SRX Pro rear derailleur.

What are the biggest tires you guys are getting in these frames?  I am seeing lots of 50mm but is anyone running anything bigger?  Does someone mind posting what your tires measure and some clearance pics?

I know I am replying to an old message, but that can still be useful.

I have tried Dubnital 2.2:
- rear is not ok; can technically mount them, but I would never ever ride with it
- front is fine; not much clearance, and the "hairs" on the tire rub a bit. But I have used this config for a few hundred kilometers and it’s fine, at least in dry-ish conditions; you probably don't want to ride in sticky mud with it...
