Quote from: Motty89 on October 27, 2026, 08:25:53 AMFrame arrived this morning after being sent on 18th. Love the paint job, looks even better in the flesh. Very impressed with quality of frame with headset bearings fitting well  no paint overspray that I can see and the inside of the frame/baes/swatpost that i can see looks very smooth.

Thank you for your kind words about Light Cycling. I'd still like to apologize for the rather long delivery time. The previous paint process did have some durability issues in use. We have since upgraded our paint workshop and introduced many new finishes and creative designs, so you're fortunate. The finish looks this good because the new paintwork is done in the same workshop used by top-tier brands.
I look forward to seeing photos of your complete bike and hearing about your riding experience.

Program announcement for this thread — and an invitation.

I'm opening a Founding Rider Program on three of our gravel frames. The idea: get them into the hands of people who will actually write about them. Since this community is basically the home of honest Chinese-carbon build threads, you guys get the first call.

How it works (no marketing speak, this is the actual mechanism):

1. You order the frame at the standard price on the site. Payment locks your slot.
2. Within 90 days of delivery you post a build thread here on Chinertown — unboxing, at least a couple of build updates, and a first-ride report, with 10+ real photos. Plus one post on any social channel you use (400+ words or a 1-min video, that's the bar).
3. Once I've checked the content, you send me a PayPal payment request and I refund the difference within 7 days. Your effective price ends up at $549.

Why the refund model instead of a straight discount? Simple: the budget goes to riders who actually deliver content. Nobody owes anybody anything.

The frames in this round:

• GF06 Pace — standard race gravel. 980g frame (XS), 700×47C, magnetic downtube storage, T47 + UDH, 27.2 post. The unusual bit: it clears a 52/36T road crankset, verified on an actual frame — most gravel frames stop at GRX rings. Standard $649 → effective $549. 10 slots.

• GF08 Quest — long-distance adventure gravel, compact and quick-handling. 1025g (Light, M raw), 700×57C / 29×2.25, two builds (with or without storage). Standard $608 → effective $549. 5 slots.

• GF09 Quest — aero-tube endurance gravel. 1050g (M raw), integrated storage box, 700×57C. Standard $659 → effective $549. 5 slots.

The fine print, all of it, no surprises:
- 20 slots total, one frame per person, slots lock on payment order only
- Content stays up 12 months; you own it, I just get repost rights with credit
- Criticism is genuinely welcome — fit/finish issues, geometry quirks, whatever you find. That's the point of doing this here and not on Instagram. Vague rants with nothing useful in them don't count as content though
- New Chinertown accounts are fine — just post properly
- Frames are made to order, so sizing gets sorted with me before you pay
- Shipping is included; EU/DPD includes duty. UPS-only regions add $50, remote areas another $50

Apply via WhatsApp (+86 180 2696 3351) or [email protected] with your height/inseam, the frame+size you want, your Chinertown handle, and your social links.

Happy to answer questions here — about the frames or the program. And if you spot something in the geometry charts that looks off, say it. That's happened before and it made the product pages better.

LightCycling Quest GF10 — Carbon 32er Adventure Frameset (32×2.4, Boost, UDH, In-Frame Storage)
Hey everyone, Daniel from LightCycling here. Some of you have been following the 32-inch wave — we've been quietly building a frame around it, and it's ready. Here's the full spec and geometry. Ask me anything.

What it is
The Quest GF10 is a carbon 32-inch adventure frameset. Same philosophy as our 700c Quest frames (storage, mounts, long-distance stability), scaled up around the bigger wheel. We make no claims about it being anything other than what it is: a well-executed open platform frame from our manufacturing partner, with our geometry choices, QC and service on top.

Key specs

  • Wheel/tire: 32" (ISO 686) only, clears 32×2.4 — not 29er compatible, by design
  • Spacing: 15×110 front / 12×148 rear (Boost — standard MTB hubs, easy wheel builds)
  • Brakes: flat mount, 160 front / 180 rear
  • BB: T47 85.5mm threaded
  • Drivetrain: 1× only, 42T max, Di2 & mechanical, no FD mount, no dropper routing
  • Headset: FSA NO.55R 1.5" ACR, full internal routing (included; matching one-piece bar sold separately)
  • Seatpost: 27.2mm round, 0 or 20mm offset, included
  • Hanger: SRAM UDH
  • Storage: in-frame downtube compartment
  • Mounts: 3 cargo per fork leg + fender mounts + crown; bento; 4 bottle positions; 4 seatstay mounts; under-downtube guard mounts
  • Max system weight: 120kg
  • Fork tested to EN 14781

Geometry highlights

  • 4 sizes S-XL, reach 400→450 (steps of 10/20/20), stack 618→636 (nearly constant — pick your size by cockpit length)
  • HTA steepens with size: 68° (S) → 70.5° (XL); calculated trail @32×2.4 runs 108mm → 89mm — small sizes get maximum loaded stability, big sizes get a quicker front end
  • CS 455, wheelbase 1106-1136, BB drop 105 (BB height ~302 on 2.4s)
  • Honest note on sizing: S standover ~778mm on 2.4s — this frame fits best from ~170cm up. Below that, we'll point you to our 700c Quest frames instead.
  • Full geometry chart attached.

Ecosystem
"But where do I get tires and wheels?" — Tires shipping today: Maxxis Aspen 32×2.4, Teravail Cannonball 32×2.2 / Camrock 2.4, Vee T-Monster. Rims/wheelsets: Nextie, Light Bicycle, ICAN. Boost hubs mean any MTB hub builds up. The fork comes with the frame — rigid 32" forks are actually the hardest part to find right now, so we made sure ours carries full mounts.

Price / availability

Price: 【649 USD】including shipping . In stock / lead time 【2 weeks】. PayPal G&S accepted on first orders — always.

Happy to answer anything — geometry, layup, build compatibility. And if you're over 6'2" and have been squeezing onto XXL 700c frames your whole life: this one's for you.

I had great experience with Daniel, answering my questions and followup along the way. Frame was packaged extremely well, heavy gauge cardboard and well wrapped carbon. No issues out of the box whatsoever. I has asked for Gloss over raw carbon and it looks really well. Their paint tech is well skilled. Prior to this I has ordered the Tantan version and the frame came in with crackled paint (not intentional) and it had been foam wrapped to soon so there way foam impression throughout the frame paint as well.

GF07 is what I purchased

Setting up the bike was quick and smooth. I fit GRX groupset on it with no issues. internally routing the cables was easy with the guides. I had to remove the Internal frame storage "doors" to more easily get the brake hose through the bb area. But was able to mount them back on once finished.

BB threaded as it should and was not out of level. some chinese frame makers dont put enough attention here and the BB an sit offset slightly which you wouldnt notice in a short ride but over long hauls can impact a riders biomechanics.

Seatpost slips a bit initially but some carbon prep solved that (I should have uses that to start)

The headset and spacers all worked as they should.

Ride feel, I spent a few rides indoor first tinkering with my fit to get it right (Personal, I forgot to write down my exact measures from my bike I had sold before getting this)

I fit the bike with 2.25 thunder burts that measured 55mm when inflated. I am 75KG rider and had about 20psi in the tires (I can go lower for more comfort likely)

I rode a 20km stretch of fairly chunky railbed and the bike felt more comfortable the faster I rode. This said my legs gave out before anything else. This said riding slow on gravel after my legs fatigued on any bike wouldnt have been super comfortable by any means. I lowered the tire pressure to 16psi at that point and it helped.

Frame felt stiff and no issues when I got out of the saddle to put down higher outputs. I did not weigh it before starting the build so I cannot verify initial weight but complete with GRX and some Aero Raptor gravel wheels I was 8.2kgs

I do not know how to upload images here but this is a thread of facebook that I had shared some build pics on. I did not have the thunder burts yet when these pics were taken
