Has anyone built up this frame? The microsuspension pivot design is really neat to me, but I am also worried about adding another point of failure or squeakiness. Or if it even makes a big difference in comfort.

Hi there, i also considered buying the frame. I asked Jim about pricing:

The max tire is 700*50C or 650B*2.1'' or 29er*1.95'', so 29er*2.1" can not fit for it, the edge of the tire touches the frame.
Frame LCG074-D, including frame+ seat post + fork + handlebar + seat clamp+ head set+ front & rear thru-axle, and two hangers for rear derailleur.
Color: UD matt, (painting customized is acceptable with extra cost.)
frame set included one storage bag as gift.

I actually ordered one with a custom paint job and it is currently in transit. So did a friend of mine. It's indeed a bit of a gamble whether the pivot will be reliable.

I'll post pictures once the frames arrive and will keep you informed on the build.

Isnt this the same type of pivot the cannondale topstone has? From my understanding, the seattube and the top tube and the seatpost all have to flex in unison to make this work. How many cycles of this flex can the frame take?

In the pictures and videos, the lightcarbon axle loks like it is fitted just outside the seattube cyclinder, whereas the cannondale one is IN the seattube, also the cannondale seattube is almost bent like a bow, but the lightcarbon one looks like a regular seatpost. Would be very interesting to see how it holds up in the real world.

Certainly looks like the same frame, but at the same time some measurements of the geometry is not the same. Look at HT/ST angles. Should put this in geometry calculator and check, one of them is most certainly not correct 😅🫣
If 73.5/71.5 angles give 550mm top tube in sz520, then with 74/71, it should have shorter top tube, since both have same wheelbase measurements.

Ok, I haven't taken the time yet to take proper pictures, but these are the first ones I took after I unpacked the frame.

Can add better ones later. The inside of the frame (bottom bracket and headset area) looks really clean.

Looks awesome. Please let us know what the biggest tire you think could fit in there. Or share pics of what ever tire you are running.  Also, what is inside the pivot point?  Is it bearings or a bushing or elastomer?   Thank you.

 With regards to tire clearance: they say it's max 50mm so that's what I got.

Will post pictures of the build (and real life clearance) but due to my calendar being quite full I think this will be the beginning oktober at the earliest.

The finish looks pretty good. I wish the downtube was wider though. The hatch and the storage looks cramped as compared to the other modern gravel bikes. Please let us know how it rides after you build it. I really want to know how the pivot design feels.

I have a question for you guys in here who know geometry well:

How would you describe the characteristics of this frame?
I am searching for a gravel frame that I will use for everyday riding, but also longer bikepacking and maybe some ultra racing with minimal bikepacking setup.
