If I pull the front brake, I can feel and hear that the shaft of the fork moves a bit.

Until now, I haven't investigated in detail the reason behind this movement.

With a different bike, I had the same behaviour and I could eliminate the movement by tighten the ahead cap.

Also are these LightCarbon spacers and stem and what is the handlebar model you are using ?

They call the green colour LCB-08HS Chameleon Green.

Did you shorten the steerer tube sufficiently? If not, it might be that the top cap gets stuck on the expander in the steerer tube and thus not apply sufficient compression.

Yes, I did.

After the first ride I was also able to tighten the screw properly. So right now everything feels tight and good!

So far I really like it. I have tested it on a few nice gravel roads, a bit of single trail, normal roads. Feels good, except for steep descents... which is not really the terrain it is build for.

Maybe I will swap the stem for a shorter one. Maybe also swap the drop bar to something with more flare.

Guys- I need your advice.

Is it normal for the seat post to be loose in the seat tube insert hole?
Mine is loose and I have asked LightCarbon for their tolerances. Not sure that I got it correctly from Cassie at ProX, she says that seatpost is 27.2 and seat tube is 27.2-27.35 (looking at their drawing 27.2-27.35 seems to be the seatpost tolerance)

Measuring with a caliper (not digital) I get this:
The seatpost is 26.95 mm and the seat tube is 27.95 mm!
That seems huge. The difference in diameter between the seatpost and the seat tube is 1.0 mm (on the worst spot it’s even 1.3 mm)!
Or am I just wrong? To me this seems way outside any tolerances for a tight and good fit of the post inside the tube.

I'm no expert but seems to loose to me, according to AI,normally between 0 to 0,05mm, max 0,2mm.

1 mm is way too much! Question is if that is only at the very top or all the way through. If the SP rocks even after clamping, you got a problem. There‘s a bunch of hacks on the web how to fix this but honestly, if this is a new frame LC should provide you a solution.

It seems tighter down the tube than on top. Lightcarbon has responded and they are sending me a new seatpost with slightly larger diameter.
I have built the bike now and done two test rides, both with original seatpost and Canyon Ergon seatpost and it doesn't seem to slip.

So after a few month of riding in the woods, a first report.

I really like the frame, the look is very nice and the ride quality high. Sometimes i have the feeling it is a bit too soft (mainly at high speeds) and sometimes, it could provide more damping (rough descents). So for me it is a very nice build, that I really like riding.

After a couple of rides during muddy winter conditions, I have noticed that the rear tire is rubbing against the frame (near the rear suspension). I use Schwalbe One Pro RS 50mm front and rear. So I guess the 50 mm tire is bit too much for the rear wheel.

Hey, great looking build.

If I could ask, when did you order and how long roughly did it take for the frame to make it to you? I decided to splurge on it 4 weeks ago hoping to get it before season starts but apparently they don't have any fork availability atm and the current estimated production time is another month

But the frame looks very good in that red color, i cheaped out and got default matte black and totally paid final price of 890$ for the version with SP03 seat post, default paint, integrated handlebars and CEMA ceramic bearing BB(it includes shipping and paypal handling charge as well). Finished my order with Tina from lightcarbon and She has been great help but still very disappointing there was estimate of 2 weeks for delivery and no mention of forks being out of stock, so for anyone aiming for this frame in this future it would be worth to make sure before ordering.
