New wheels: what to mount FarSports vs 8LIEN

Hi all

I want to upgrade my heavy wheels for something lighter and ended up with two different solutions:

• FarSport with ceramic speed bearings integrated.
• 8LIEN with ceramic bearings from S&S integrated.

Both weight similar: Around 1180-1200 gr per wheelset
Prices: $1299 to $1599

Is there somone who already try them out? Any opinion?

I would go with Tagoola, XM carbon speed or Zen instead.

But it is my personal opinion.

Thanks both for the reply. I am looking for something a bit more high-end. Nothing against these brands but seems to be a bit cheap, at least where it has to do with the decals on the rim itself. From weight perspective, they look all great

My idea was to upgrade a bit the elite wheels I do have.

Higher price does not means higher quality... But again, it is my personal opinion.

You should try to contact the sellers I recommand and ask them what they can build for you.

My $499 50mm deep wheelset(weigh's 1400+ grams) from Yishun has faced a lot of bad roads and gravel routes and it's still going strong and still true after 2 years of riding. I also do a lot of bunny hops and small drops while I weigh 80 kilos and I would definitely recommend them to anyone (tho Yishun has transitioned to purely B2B I think).

Just checked their AliEx store and can confirm. Then I would highly recommend Tagoola wheelsets. They are tank but light. As I've said, I am a heavy rider and the wheelset that I have are still true despite riding it in really bad roads and gravels. And as BeR said, higher price does not always equate to high quality. Those expensive wheelsets brands gets their stocks from manufacturers such as Yishun, Speeder, Mondince etc. anyway.

Anyway, to the OP. Both are last year's news, but if you have to get either of those, get Farsports, 8LIEN are way overpriced for no reason. You can get better value from smaller OEMs though.
