Cyclami CYC1000 Cutoff Light

Is anyone using the Cyclami CYC1000 cutoff front light? I'm wanting to get a new light for my bike that has the cut off beam to stop blinding oncoming traffic. Price is pretty good.

I have the cyc1200. It’s excellent, don’t really have too many comments. It’s borderline too bright on max brightness, as I have trouble seeing anything outside the beam due to the contrast

Awesome. How is the run time? I feel like I probably would be using it at the 900 lumen mode at most during the night.

Never ran out of battery so far. My commute is 1 hour so the battery life is at least 3 hours. I am pretty good about charging it so unfortunately nothing better to show. I usually keep it on medium

I was also looking at this unit, seems to be a way cheaper version of the Magicshine Evo1100 light.
At this moment I am using this one, which is good enough, but maybe this one would have a better beam.

I have a similar one from West Biking, and I think the beam is a tad bit too narrow. I think I'll give the CYC1200 a try.

This seems great and quite cheap, on my gravel bike I take the light off because it's held on by a rubber strap and really heavy, but then I end up riding late into the night without a headlight and it's dangerous. I will probably be ordering this one shortly

Just wanted to update this, I got the light and it works quite well. Cut off line is much sharper than my other light. It certainly is quite large though so would affect the ability to use handlebar bags.

I wish they'd figure something out to soften the sides of the beam and get more width right in front of the bike (not at the end where it's not really needed).

I would agree with that. I wonder if the Magicshine dual lens options have better spread closer to the bike. Outbound Lighting looks good too, but it's on the pricier side of things.

outbound is the other end of the spectrum (in a good way).

heavy and built to last for a very long time. Everything about it is quality and the people behind the products are absolutely first rate. Extremely highly recommended if it is within budget. Keep in mind that the lights are quite heavy compared to the cheap ones you will find on alix. Weight doesn't matter so much in terms of ability to produce light, but it does matter for thermal regulation and durability.

btw the Outbound approach to soft fill light and a long throw is to use spotlight type bar light with a diffused helmet light. This combination works very very well.

Got mine but haven't had a chance to ride my bike. I charged it once and turned it on at night a few times for less than a minute just to see what it looks like. Today it showed the red LED as though the battery had discharged somehow, despite my not using it. Quite strange.

I just ordered the CYC1600 light yesterday because the CYC1000 is just IP4x rated which is just terrible. It might actually perform better than that but not worth the risk imo. CYC1600 is IP66 which is good, I should be able to have the light on when I clean the bike or wash it off in the sink.

BUT now I just noticed the spec it says 2000mAh in some places and "two built in 2000mAh batteries" in another. I really hope it's not just 2000mAh but we'll see. I should maybe read a bit more carefully next time.

I ended up getting the CYC1200 Pro since it has a 4000 mAh battery. It's also IP4x, but I honestly don't see there being any issue with it getting wet, the seal for the charging port seems like it would work well enough and there don't seem to be any significant gaps.
