My current daily driver road bike is a 2011 rim brake model that is limited to 25c max tires. I've been wanting to do a more modern road bike build for a little while now, and had been collecting a few parts, starting with an Ltwoo eR9. However, a few things conspired to make that not really feasible financially so I sold the eR9 and set my sights a little lower.
I've had an extra disc road wheelset with 32c GP5000 tires that I've kept around for my swapping my gravel bike between road and gravel. Someone near me was selling an Ltwoo RX (2x12sp) for $100. I already had a cheap Evosid 2x crankset that I briefly considered putting on my gravel bike but wasn't exactly impressed with how sturdy it seemed, so I never bothered.
I saw the Twitter C6 go on sale for a price so low ($330 including shipping, with bars, axles, headset, and BB). I couldn't ignore it. I'm not expecting much, I understand it's a fairly basic alloy frame. But, at least it should give me something rideable while I decide what kind of better frame I eventually want (likely Titanium, but that day may take a while). During the same sale with the same codes I also picked up an ultralight 12sp cassette.
I could have gotten the frame for even less without all of the accessories, but it was less than $100 difference in price for all of that stuff. I figure as long as the bars and headset aren't complete trash it will be fine to get rolling with, and I can replace the BB and bars, if necessary, in time. (And also take no risks on spec'ing out the right axles)
I'll likely get a decent crankset soon, but I'll need a minute to figure out what exactly I want. Edit: I decided that I'll try out a power meter crankset instead of using the power meter pedals I have. Considering I needed a crankset anyway, the recent sale price with coupons & coins and such was too good to pass up. I'll recoup a little money by (hopefullY) selling my current power meter pedals and using some road pedals I already have sitting around. [edit: I couldn't help myself, I bought some new pedals.]
($0) Wheelset + tires (not counting these because I've had them for a long while)
($330) Frame, Bars, BB, Headset, Axles
($76) Ultralight 11-34 12sp cassette
($100) Ltwoo RX 2x12sp groupset
($49) KMC pre-waxed 12sp chain
edit:
($320) Magene P515 power meter crankset + chainrings
So far I'm at roughly $555 $875 all-in taxes, fees, and shipping, which doesn't seem that bad for what I'm getting.
