IP256 SL and Kurt Kinetic
« on: June 16, 2015, 04:08:05 AM »
Hi Guys,
Does anyone know which "Traxle" is required to mount the IP256SL on a Kurt Kinetic Rock 'n' roll? Pretty sure mine is 142x12 at the back.

Many thanks,

Mike

I use the DT Swiss RWS E-thru axle
http://www.bike24.com/1.php?content=8;navigation=1;search=DT+Swiss+RWS+E-Thru+%2812x142mm%29;menu=1000%2C2%2C169;product=81622

Which is a Shimano standard.
So I guess the 2102 would fit.
But you can still ask them https://kurtkinetic.com/contact/

Thanks for the reply Carbonazza, which KK cups do you use? Surely they will trash the nice (and expensive!) DT Swiss axle?  :o I know my cheapo road bike QR is trashed from taking it in and out.

Further to the above, does the 256SL use the E thru system at the rear then?  ???

What is a KK cup? Is it this https://www.facebook.com/KingKundaCup :)

In any case, after 10 months, the axle is still fine.
I have a Hope hub and the dropouts 142x12 that came with the frame.

Which one do you use with the RWS Axle? Thanks in advance, most helpful!

From the link you provided initially, I thought Kurt Kinetic was a shop selling some light minimalist axles  :o
The DT swiss axle is totally incompatible with KK trainers. The lever is totally flat.
I'm sorry for the misunderstanding.

No worries, I do like the DT swiss Axle though so will be picking one up in the near future!

Bought this week a DT Swiss RWS E-Thru axle and I came with an axle nut. No problems so far. I really like this axle.

The XmiPlay axle had some play, just a little, but the RWS hasn't.

Bought it here: http://en.hollandbikeshop.com/branded-bicycle-parts/dt-swiss-bicycle-parts/dt-swiss-quick-release/dt-swiss-quick-release-skewer-rws-atb-12x142mm-aluminum/
